The ray traced Minecraft exclusivity to the home consumer market will honestly move some major numbers for them. 4 months ago the developers said “ray tracing is the future of Minecraft” and now they have proprietary hardware for the families and average consumer who don’t build PCs and think Ray Trace is an old blues musician from New Aw’Leans

A few streams and proper marketing and mouths will salivate... and the console(s) will sell like crazy.. I guarantee it...for a game people may already own.

And to top it off you have day one game pass titles like Halo Infinite, Hellblade 2, whatever else the f*** these 14 studios are cooking up?? God damn...

The balls in their court they just have to play it right.

How many times are you going to copy and paste this comment?

That’s crazy considering I posted this once in a failed article that only existed for a few minutes.

I didn’t know I had fans... but i liked my comment so I used it again for the world to downvote with no input. The silent tears are enjoyable.

Do you know why Minecraft is so popular?

Because it's accessible, simple but deep, and generally fun content creation, and addictive. It's something for everyone.

Having to purchase an expensive console to get some new feature takes away one major aspect of why it's so popular.

More popular than God type games generally do not rely on graphics or fancy features to be popular. The number of franchises that do have the graphics can be counted on two hands with fingers left over.

Minecraft has had several advancements to it's core since MS brought it. It hasn't move consoles to a significant degree. It's increased sales, and most importantly accessibility, of the game itself, which is why it's become more popular.

The power user is a significant percentage of gamers, but still not enough to change the tides of Xbox fortune for the long run.

Wait, raytraced Minecraft is exclusive to Xbox?

i3eyond the Circle1994d ago

To the hardware. Just like the bedrock edition I don’t see them putting their new iterations on the competition day one and we have yet to see if “hardware accelerated” ray tracing for the PS4 are rt cores or software ray tracing powered by gpgpu. If this new Minecraft vision is being built from a hardware perspective I don’t Microsoft coding outside of PC/Xbox at this time. All fingers point to exclusivity by mandatory omission.

Nonetheless it would be a fantastic marketing move. I’ve been showing a few friends who love Minecraft the ray traced version and they love it.. they think it’s Minecraft 2

DaDrunkenJester1995d ago (Edited 1995d ago )

Next up day one will be Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Bleeding Edge, Battletoads, Wasteland 3, Wasteland Remaster, Minecraft Dungeons, Pshychonauts 2, Grounded, Forza 8, Halo Infinite, Tell Me Why, Tunic, Cuphead DLC, AoE, Gears Tactics, CrossfireX, Microsoft Flight Simulator, Phantasy Star Online 2...

All of this day one GamePass, not to mention the Yakuza games, kingdom hearts, Final Fantasy all coming to gamepass this year.

And this is just what we know about. Gamepass is going to have a killer 2020.

Kavorklestein1995d ago

Yeah lol GP is the best way to play. On the cheap. As far as I know, cheap is the best way to play unless the game screams buy me full price like that feeling of paying full price for a game and playing it on launch day is a great feeling for sure. And it feels even better when a game you are looking forward to is already paid for "so to speak" and costs you almost nothing. Helps me see the qualities of the game without going: "Fukkk, this cost me 60 bucks?"
GP is the bomb and I always love it as long as it is affordable

Ausbo1995d ago

Yeah cuphead dlc won’t be free, but for everything else, I can’t wait to play for free with gamepass.

DJStotty1995d ago

@DaDrunkenJester

But remember, Microsoft have no games /s

SoonDeadByOldAge1994d ago

I hope MS bundles the series x with game pass ultimate for at least a month. Killer deal to be able to play all ms launch games for only the cost of the console. I think it will be hard for Sony to top that deal but I’d love if they tried.

Sony Faces Class Action in the Netherlands Over Allegedly Inflated PlayStation Store Prices

Mass Damage & Consumer Foundation in the Netherlands has filed a class action against Sony for inflating PlayStation Store prices.

dveio21h ago(Edited 21h ago)

My personal opinion:

Manufacturers and publishers have indeed inflated the industry.

From $700 million development costs for games like Call of Duty, to digital (store) prices for games and DLCs, online multiplayer fees on consoles (why can you play Helldivers 2 online for free on PC but not consoles?) or still preventing sell/lend digitally purchased games.

Sometime in the future, this bubble will collapse.

They should know better, but they just can't help themselves and suck even the last penny out of our wallets.

BeHunted19h ago

Because Sony knows people will be forced to pay those prices for single player and multiplayer games, not everyone prefers PC gaming. Sony also has a monopoly on PlayStation digital games. In 2019, they stopped allowing retailers and game key sellers to sell PlayStation digital games, making them available only through the official PlayStation Store

anast21h ago

The Dutch gov. wants a piece of the pie.

Eonjay21h ago

They should be suing the individual publishers increasing the prices to $80 instead of suing the store. There are plenty of publishers still selling game for like $50 with much success (like E33). But this proves that the publishers are the ones setting the prices.... so again nothing changes because they aren't even going after the main offender. How is suing Sony going to make Microsoft not charge $80 for the next COD? Sony being the number one store in the market doesn't mean that publisher have to charge us an arm and a leg. Again the industry is laughing at us because consumers never get real representation. Just these fake platitudes that are meaningless.

BeHunted19h ago

"How is suing Sony going to make Microsoft not charge $80 for the next COD"

Because Microsoft doesn't have a monopoly, I can purchase Call of Duty at a huge discount from CDKeys or other gaming retailers. The only way to purchase digital PlayStation games is through the PlayStation Store.

djl348518h ago

Weird, I swore GoW, Stellar Blade, Horizon Zero Dawn, TLoU, etc. were on the steam store....uh.....

BeHunted14h ago(Edited 14h ago)

@djI3485

I'm talking about PlayStation games that you can only purchase on PlayStation. I can purchase Steam and Epic games from 3rd party retailers and key stores.

Killer2020UK19h ago

About time. There is zero fair reason why digitally distributed products that you cannot recoup any value when you want to dispose of them, should be priced higher than that of physical copies that entail all of the costs and the benefits of owning.

Cancelled Batman Game Featuring Damian Wayne Character Designs Surface

"Project Sabbath" was a cancelled Batman game by WB Games Montreal where Damien Wayne was set to take on the mantle of the Bat.

Terry_B2d ago

Its time Damian ...and his mother too & how his son came to be will be a big part in a background story of a Batman movie, series or game.

-Foxtrot2d ago

I'd have rather seen Terry than Damian especially to see what they could have done with Terry in the Arkhamverse

excaliburps1d 4h ago

No, WB doesn't want anything fun since suits want live service garbage for max revenue. LOL!

Shame. If we are getting any Batman games like these, it'll be years away.

LordStig16h ago

YES! make an Arkham game with Terry as Batman and call it Batman Beyond Arkham.

Babadook723h ago

Not to be confused with Damon Wayans.

jznrpg23h ago

I’m not a big superhero fan but I do enjoy the Batman and SpiderMan games. Too bad this one got cancelled. WB has been mostly shite live service.
