Wccftech selected the best roleplaying games of the decade that just came to an end, a hard task given the countless great RPGs that released.
So many great games
I actually played them all! And they're all excellent. Nier Automata is not an RPG though
It's an action RPG.
Skyrim shouldn't be anywhere close to this list. The game is shallow. Morrowind was awesome, but that doesn't mean Skyrim is awesome too, it's a lazier version. If you're looking for a table-top experience akin to D&D, then Divinity: Original Sin 2 is the best.
Err we are talking about "Best Roleplaying Games of the Decade" and Morrowind came out in 2002 which is 18 years ago. From a personal point of view, I would also like to add Horizon Zero Dawn and NioH (those "twilight missions" can be a shock). I have not played Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice (on my to-do list) or Divinity so I cannot comment. I have far too many games, sigh!
Err, I said Marrowind "was" and used "is" for Skyrim in the context of a decade. err I played them both. But yeah, HZD is way better than Skyrim.
Disco Elysium so good it got honorable mentions twice?
I hope so. I plan on picking it up soon.
Game is fantastic. Quickly became one of my favorite rpgs. If you enjoyed something like the original Planescape, considering you played it, you'll like this. Combat takes a back seat to character building and narrative agency between the player and the character their leading.
