No, This Isn't Our Breakfast - It Was Made in Dreams on PS4

What do you think of these full English breakfasts made in Dreams? Is your tummy rumbling with desire?

Rangerman12081956d ago

I'm genuinely surprised by how good it looks! Kudos for the artist!

Sono4211956d ago (Edited 1956d ago )

seriously though, some of the other ones you can tell are made in some sort of engine/game but that first one... man that looks so good!

"opens wallet" what can i get for $30 bucks?
"a nice hot meal!" me - "nah..."
"a digital version of a nice hot meal!" me - "sold!"

bouzebbal1955d ago

Looks good and nasty at the same time.. No way in the world I would eat that

Sono4211955d ago

@bouzebbal

I agree, but not because I don't like any of that food, that food looks delicious! I'm just one of those people who doesn't like my food touching... lol

As a life long artist, I can say that food is the hardest thing to render. At least for me, some say the human hand or skin tones, I say food

bishup251956d ago

the plate is overloaded with too many meats. i'd still eat it though.
not bad job on the presentation.

Nacho_Z1956d ago

Couple of rashers of bacon and sausages isn't exactly extreme meat eating, it's not something you have everyday. Good for a hangover if you can manage it.

Sophisticated_Chap1956d ago

"the plate is overloaded with too many meats."

Just the way I like it. Hey, I wonder if you went to the same school as these kids in Germany, who think the same way you do:

Segata1956d ago

How is that breakfast? It has beans and burnt stuff. That just looks like heart attack on a plate.

Jin_Sakai1956d ago

What’s your definition of a good breakfast?

Segata1956d ago

Not one with beans. I have literally never seen anyone eat that much shit at breakfast.

Sono4211955d ago

@Segata

Do you live in a cave or something?

SyntheticForm1956d ago

That's not the point?

'It looks unhealthy' LOL.

It's about how real it looks.

Segata1956d ago

And with all the chromatic abberation it doesn't really. It looks plastic. Much like the food in FFXV.

The Wood1956d ago

I don't eat swine so it's not appealing but it looks good

Abnor_Mal1956d ago

Same, but the first pic looked good, except for the piece of ham that looked like it was floating a little.

Breakfast at dinner. I do that all the time

beanplant1956d ago

"Beans and burnt stuff" lol. What is a typical breakfast for you?

Knushwood Butt1956d ago

I'd love a full English breakfast right now. Can't get them or make them here. Even baked beans are hard to find, as is bacon and decent sausages.

All that is missing from this one is a steaming hot cup of tea, toast, butter, and marmalade. Perfection!

Dom_Estos1956d ago

Beans and sausages are hard to find? Where the fuck do you live?

Knushwood Butt1955d ago (Edited 1955d ago )

@ Dom

Japan

I can get baked beans online but mainly unknown brands. Not even the local import supermarket sells baked beans! They have chilli beans and refried beans, but no baked beans...

Can't find decent sausages like you would get from a proper butcher in the UK. Supermarkets here have herb and lemon sausages which are OK but a poor substitute.

You can get bacon easily but to be honest it's crap compared to the bacon you get in the UK. It's really thin and pretty tasteless. To back this up, when my kids went to the UK last summer they went nuts for the bacon and ham. It's a night and day difference.

Eggs, mushrooms, tomatos, and my home-made bread are all covered / good in Japan. The rest is hard work, and a compromise.

Forget black pudding!

I have a fat/protein diet, and my cholestorol and blood pressure is lower than it's ever been. Not to mention all of my GI problems disappeared after starting to eat that way. This is an old and poorly researched idea that fatty foods lead to a heart attack. Though, yes, I would leave out the beans and bread.

purple1011953d ago

Basically paleo (cave man diet). =eat anything but leave out dairy, processed food and grains like bread.

To sum up... If it existed before the agracultral revolution eat it.. If it was made after, has been highly processed and comes in a packaging/plastic wrapper... Stay away.

I've seen loads of people's diets and been a fatty myself... Out of all the diets. Ketone. Vegan. Paleo.. Etc etc..

The people who eat paleo style have the brightest glow and look healthiest to me.

RacerX1956d ago

Well aren't you the bell of the ball. Everyone must line up to have a conversation with you.

Christopher1956d ago

I'll let the British know your thoughts on their breakfast choices.

xX-oldboy-Xx1956d ago

Segata - hasnt answered the question haha, what does he consider a normal breakfast?

Knock out the Black Pudding and that is a normal Aussie breakfast too, whack on some grilled tomato and sauteed mushrooms and we are gold.

I'd add extra bacon too.

ILostMyMind1956d ago

So the problem is the beans?

G-Ham1955d ago

Obviously don’t know a lot about England mate or food for that matter. Also who’s mocking English CUISINE. Smh.

Master of Unlocking1955d ago (Edited 1955d ago )

Calm down, that's what they like over there, a traditional british breakfast pretty much always has its hot beans cooked in tomato sauce and sausages and what not. Who are you to tell them what their breakfast should be made of btw?

purple1011953d ago

Burnt stuff is fried pigs blood. Very popular. It's called black pudding in England.

Holy Cow, that looks amazing!

I had to do a double take to check that was actually graphics and not just a photo of a fry up lol.

Consider me impressed, whenever I try and sculpt anything on Dreams it looks like a drunkard made it out of Playdough!

Muzikguy1956d ago (Edited 1956d ago )

If I had to guess I'd say Cyberpunk will be

Or Ghost of Tsushima. Dreams could too but I bet there will be a lot of good games this year

Sono4211955d ago

Trust me, I'm probably the biggest supporter of Dreams on here, played the beta, and bought early access, I think it has incredible potential, ESPECIALLY once they add Online Multiplayer after launch, that's when things will REALLY heat up, but I just don't see gaming sites recognizing how great of a game this is, I mean we haven't been able to play the single player yet, hopefully that is great, but in terms of user generated content, you could hop on there, and play two complete garbage games, get a bad impression and hop off, or you could get on and see a couple masterpieces and be sold completely on what the game can offer, it really depends on what you end up playing, and this could really hurt or help dreams, really depends, but I think this alone will keep it from getting game of the year.

froy4021955d ago

Dreams is awesome and really impressive but it's a game creation tool, I wouldn't call it GOTY unless maybe there are game of the year game(s) with in it made by someone.

SyntheticForm1956d ago

It's uncanny.

The only way I can tell it isn't real is because the food at the southern portion of the plate doesn't look quite natural sitting on the plate.

That's it though - otherwise I could be easily fooled.

Shuhei Yoshida: A Mix of Technical and Business Reasons Held Dreams Back from PC, Mobile

Dreams had potential but it really needed to get off of the PS4. It released so late in the gen when everyone was already wanting to move on to next gen systems. It should have come to PC, and a native PS5 version should have definitely released.

Knushwood Butt96d ago

I bought it Day 1 but the 'campaign' was pretentious and just didn't work for me. I had no intention of making content so was left to fumble through the user created content. Some good stuff, with the pig detective being the most memorable. However, just moved on to other stuff, and despite owning VR, never once played in VR either.

Knushwood Butt96d ago

Media Molecule always seem to be too ahead of the curve to have a big hit. Hopefully whatever they are working on now finds a big audience.

YoungKingDoran95d ago

For whatever reason/s they somehow dropped the ball hard with Dreams, our loss

Lionsguard95d ago

Dreams was fantastic, especially when VR was added. The things people managed to build was incredible. Some of the best VR experiences are still from Dreams experiences. The huge crux for it was being on consoles however and it was missing one thing that they didn't have back then and that we have now..... A.I.. With the advent of AI today, if they could have had Dreams running on PC and somehow got AI to work where we just typed in a prompt and it did things, it would have been a massive game changer, it could have just made the AI "Dream" and create its own things. It could have solved their problem of somehow getting one dream to just change into another one seamlessly. I really think Dreams deserves a second chance.

Rancegamerx95d ago

It was an awesome idea but even with tools that were supposed to make it easier to make a game, it was still so hard and convoluted. It tried to do to much at once. It would have been better to separate everything into easier parts, build the world, then the character's, then the music, etc. Not everything all at once. Some people understood it but most were overwelmed or confused.

I have to emphasize that this is an extremly well made remake, it's the full game with all the content and features plus more. Visuals and sound is very close to the original, this version was recently published. I know there's a lot of predjudice against Dreams, which is a shame and not really deserved, the tool is much more capable than many think.

fr0sty206d ago

Just a reminder that Dreams is free on PS+ Premium... if you have it, go download it, and thank us later. It's a truly fantastic game.

If there was one PC version that should have existed it’s Dreams

I’m super glad they will be going back to something more traditional gaming wise.

Cacabunga370d ago

I’m sure they’ll find something creative to implement like Tearaway on vita. What a gem 💎 that thing was!!!

Abear21370d ago

My dream was DreamsVR and creating landscapes, characters, and sculptures using that amazing toolbox in vr, that would have been something imo.

ocelot07370d ago

I thought It has vr support?

Amplitude370d ago

It did but it came out as an update LONG after the game was essentially dead

P_Bomb370d ago

Dreams PC was the dream. Woulda given the game a much needed boost. Here’s hoping they follow it up well.

phoenixwing370d ago

If sony had any sense they'd be making a pc version pronto

mkis007370d ago

They probably ran into the same problem they did with the potential of last of us factions....the support needed was just too much to consider expanding to more platforms for a smallish studio.

Abnor_Mal370d ago (Edited 370d ago )

I use to say this when the game was first releasing, many kept saying it would not be possible, something about the toolsets.

I said this was one game that needed to be on as many platforms as possible, including PC and Xbox just like how Minecraft is everywhere.

Goodguy01370d ago

Creation tools just don't work on console very well. It's definitely more suited for PC, and it's very odd Sony decided not to port it over. Good MM is working on an actual game instead.
