Now that Halo: Reach has been added to the Master Chief Collection on PC, it’s as good a time as ever to argue that the game is the best in the franchise since Halo 2 on the original Xbox.
Can't argue that. 2 and Reach have always been my favorite of the series.
Halo 3 is the best halo game period.
Reach is certainly at the top. The series reached its peak at that time.
Halo 3 is by far the best in the series for me. Far better campaign than 2 that finished the fight as promised and multiplayer that took what was in 2 and built on it without completely overhauling. Reach's campaign was good but the multiplayer took a step back with loadouts and various powerups. This kickstarted a downward trent in quality for Halo multiplayer in future game.
Yup. For me it's halo 2 anniversary a lil more. Halo 3 has never been on my top lists for anything other than story. Weapons sound like nerf guns, feel like them too.(like expecting to get a headshot with br after taking away shield but somehow it tickles them til the 3rd or 4th shot then you get the headshot)
Halo reach was my first ever halo
Article headline straight out of 2010. Thought I had woken up in the past for a moment there
Halo: Reach's campaign was good, but the MP left something to be desired. As a whole package, Halo 3 is hands down the best game in the Halo franchise. It had great single player, and phenomenal multiplayer that myself, and I'm sure many others, spent hours per day with.
I'm not a big Halo guy but Reach was great I rented ODST ran that game back to the video store as fast as I could
when a news website is filled with opinion pieces
These journalists gotta make some money somehow. The youtube gaming community is destroying the average games journalist. They have no choice but to opt for low-effort opinion pieces lol People like ACG Gaming, CleanPrinceGaming, TheQuartering, UpperEchelonGames, AngryJoe, DreamCastGuy, etc all get way more clicks than these journalists could ever imagine. Youtube is the new home for games news.
i dont want to be a dick but, when i go to a gaming news website i expect gaming news, not "this game is the best game because its my opinion" or "heres why the nintendo shitch deserves more love because its my opinion"
Eh. There's room for both. If you wanted just straight news, there would be only a small number of sites to visit, because the biggest few sites would be the only available and getting all the scoops. I was on the editing team of a number of smaller, but somewhat known sites such as Hardcore Gamer, and wccftech, and I can promise you it's things like opinion pieces that keep smaller sites like that viable.
the problem is when sites share their opinions like this, they can be an influence to a huge audience, and that could be dangerous if the opinion is wrong or supports bias, can create many sheep, im not complaining about opinions alone, rather the type of content they share here
Agreed. This was the first game I got with my 360. It is literally the complete package. EVERY aspect of this product was worth playing. The singleplayer was fantastic. The multiplayer was incredible. And the co-op/Firefight mode was intense fun. One of the few games where all 3 modes (singleplayer/co-op/multiplaye r) were equally worth playing. Most games can't accomplish that. I beat the campaign like 7 times, and played the multiplayer for countless hours. Words can't describe how much I miss it. I don't have a gaming PC nowadays, but if I did, Reach is the first on my list.
