There is a big difference between not being for everyone and being considered a worst of the year. Like fine, it’s disappointing to you, but there is no way it’s that objectively that bad.

Nothing is for everyone, that reason shouldn’t make it one of the worst of the year. Now if someone were to say it was one of the biggest disappointments of the year, I would hear them out. I’m sure a lot of people were expecting something different and were disappointed. To each is own though. I do plan on playing the game, I haven’t gotten to it yet but I will. It seems like there’s some good stuff there.

If you read the reviews from all the reviewers that gave it "high scores." Even the very reviewers that "love" the game admit that the gameplay is boring. If that's not a giant red flag, I don't know what is.

It's just odd to see the consensus Game of the Year and a game with good reviews so blatantly disrespected.

It's fine if the author gave it due respect and stated that despite critical acclaim and numerous awards he found it to be disappointing. I mean, the majority of the games here were either killed by critics or never heard of by most. It's ok to have an unpopular opinion, but he's stating that the game stinks like it's the general consensus.

Death Stranding has over 30 GotY awards and an 83 Open Critic, yet it's on a list where half the games have a Metacritic in the 40's. Look at this game Blood Waves https://www.metacritic.com/... have a little respect.

I read the article... He said that it's only the UPS delivery simulator part of Death Stranding that made it absolutely not enjoyable for him. Nonetheless, that doesn't account for the story, graphics, music, ambience, and style... All of which are being praised

Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this list is a bit suspect when every single game on the list got terrible reviews other than one game, and that one game is oh by the way currently the consensus game of the year with an Open/Metacritic in the 80's.

Other than They Are Billions every other game scored in the 50's or lower with about half the games scoring 40's or lower.

This list is so bad that Breakpoint is one of the best games on it. Blood Waves is absolute trash to the point that certain publications gave it a 0/10. A ZERO. I know reviews aren't the end all be all and i know Metacritic is severely f***** but c'mon. https://www.metacritic.com/...

If you think Death Stranding is one of the top 10 worst games of the year, you're objectively wrong.

There's plenty of trash steam/shovelware titles that would fill all 10 spots. Games that don't even function correctly.

Literal? I’ve finished Gone Home, Esther, Edith, Ethan, Soma, Swan, Don’t Knock, Drowning, Rapture, Planet, Virginia, Firewatch, Park, Never Alone, Journey, Outlast etc. Death Stranding is nothing like them. Some of us do actually play these games you know.

I actually listed Gone Home as one of my favorite games of the year, way back when when I used to write for a couple sites. Vanishing of Ethan Thomas and Firewatch are also fantastic.

I should pop a few back in since I’ve upgraded a couple things. Try Edith on my Pro, see if it helped the framerate. Or just 4K in general on my new TV. I feel like Firewatch added a photo mode after I beat it, or something in that list did anyways.

Don’t have VR but if I did I’d jump back on Intruders and Don’t Knock to check that out. Maybe knock out Here they lie as well. Got it free.

Soma added the easy mode but it didn’t really have combat anyways so I’m good there. Still have the Amnesia Collection in my library. Waiting for a Blair Witch price drop. I miss PT, but Dreams has some good inspired-by’s.

I don't think it's even possible to have an accurate "worst games" list anymore considering the mountains of shovelware that gets released on Steam and mobile app stores. Those are objectively games that have been released this year, but who could ever keep track of them?

That is my issue. I love it but I can see someone disliking it. That sais the moment a game gets a 10 from any reviewer I believe it cant be on a worst game list cause it obviously isnt. A game that universally gets below a 5/10 then you can make a case

Exactly as people stated. You can not enjoy the gameplay but for a game to be worst it needs to be buggy, have bad graphics for its generation, and be fundamentally broken in some way.
