Don’t preorder with Gamestop!! Not sure if it’s true or not but people I know that work for them say they are hearing they will be closing all stores sometime after the first of the year!!

vallencer1386d ago

Haha no way that's true. There will def be store closings for sure but they do that every year. Just googling shows they plan to close 200 at the end of the fiscal year.

Double_O_Revan1386d ago

GS has a few years left in them. But there will be Some store closings over time. They've needed to scale back for a long time.

traumadisaster1385d ago

I've been hearing it too, for decades now

BrettAwesome1385d ago (Edited 1385d ago )

All stores in Denmark are closing. Some by the end of 2020, some by early 2021. And that's official. Now who cares about Denmark, right? But it's every single store in the entire country. They're in a real bad place, and they can't do anything about it. Abysmal customer support. Abysmal customer reviews, and horrible prices. Unless they can sell a billion Nintendo mugs, Fortnite t shirts and Overwatch trucker caps, they're going down

AuraAbjure1381d ago

I always experience excellent customer service at every gamestop I go to. Are people throwing hot coffee on the employees and them giving them bad reviews when they don't give you a free game or something?

I bought a Nintendo switch case there the other day and decided it didn't offer the kind of protection I wanted. I was a little apprehensive about returning it because I didn't want the employee to feel bad since he kinda sold me on it. He was totally cool about it tho. I returned it no questions asked and so I'm not in any way discouraged from continuing to make purchases there in the future.

BrettAwesome1380d ago

I went to Gamestop once, and got accused of calling a employee "whore" by her coworker. In a shop full of parents. He just heard me wrong. Suddenly everybody in there was staring at me. Fucking idiot. The sell used stuff as new, refuse refunds on defective products under warranty, talk uninformed customers into buying shot the don't need or want. Nobody EVER answers the phone if you call customer support. It's just an answering machine. They don't take responsibility for misplaced parcels. The list goes on

Ransomed.vc group claims hack on ‘all of Sony systems’

CYBER SECURITY CONNECT writes: "Relative ransomware newcomers have claimed to have succeeded in what could be a devastating ransomware attack on global entertainment giant Sony.

Ransomed.vc has only been operating since September, despite some links to previous forums and groups. However, in that time, the group has racked up an impressive number of victims – and Sony is one of them."

Update:

Admin note: This may or may not have anything to do with PlayStation specifically, but as they claim to have hacked 'all of Sony systems' we'll include it as part of the rumor and allow it on N4G until it is made more clear the level of information obtained.

Cool hope we get some info on Sony's future gaming plans like the FTC leak MS gaming plans.

RaffiJ38m ago

Only a truly vile person would call this "cool".

Battlestar2317m ago

Hey we need to know what games Sony has planned for 2024 and beyond an since Sony are not releasing that info then i will take whatever source is necessary for info.

Sitdown2m ago

@Battlestar23
It's not a need. So hoping a company has their information leaked for your own selfish wants is ridiculous. Sony knows how to distribute their information at the appropriate time.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 a little underwhelming and could have been better

CG writes: Whilst there is no doubt the upcoming expansion Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is the real deal (based on current gaming media reviews), parts of the recent update 2.0 feels a little underwhelming in the grand scheme (trying hard not to complain too much about free stuff). In-a-way, with all the big-talk surrounding it, feels like some kind of psy ops. Let's explore why we think that way especially as Cyberpunk 2077 is one of our favourite games of all time with close to 1000 hours invested. Don't misunderstand us, the free update is welcome and does improve parts of the game way beyond the original release, but being critical we have some reservations.

Totally disagree with all of this.

thorstein1d 1h ago

Why? 2.0 made some of the worst bugs come back. Glitches galore, or are the police supposed to float down the street in a burned out police car? What about the NPCs who float around with their arms outstretched? Constant crashes?
We were all told that 2.0 was going to fix so much that we'd have to come back.
But instead I have headless NPCs talking to me after they have been killed.
There are pages of bugs just for 2.0 on their official forum and on Steam.

StarkR3ality1d 1h ago

I've seen none of them other than the burned car which yeah while a glitch made me laugh out loud. It's genuinely a great update, I'm sure there's some kinks to work out but I've not had one crash, in fact I'm getting the best performance I've ever got on the game. Getting 100fps+ mostly with Psycho Ray tracing max settings on a 4070ti with FG and dlss quality.

Maybe your rig isn't good enough? Idk.

thorstein1d 1h ago

It didn't have much of a problem before this update. Why would it suddenly devolve? It runs Starfield just fine with no mods (and yes, I know Starfield has bugs too.

StarkR3ality1d 1h ago

Starfield doesn't run well on any rig just fine. I got sub 40fps at some points in that game in the cities at 1440p. This is at least 2x more performance in this game for me with much better visuals (granted with FG but still), and I really enjoyed Starfield don't get me wrong.

I'd say to the people having issues on PC to turn of your mods as they said mods that aren't up to date can effect performance and crash.
