Next-gen N-Gage unveiled

It seems the next-generation Nokia N-Gage caused quite a stir when it was shown behind closed doors in Santa Monica last week, boasting an impressive amount of interest from top-notch and supposedly top-secret developers and publishers.

SEGA, Sony Online Entertainment, EA Mobile, Vivendi, Square Enix, Capcom, THQ Wireless, Tecmo, Namco, Disney, Universal and Glu Mobile were all reportedly there, according to PocketGamer, though it isn't clear if they're all definitely developing for the platform or just making their minds up.

I guess. I don't think I'd ever buy one, my DS does enough games for me. Plus, I forget my cell phone is in my pocket way too often... I've ruined 3 cell phones in pools.

it does sound interesting but its a long, long shot for this thing to make a good stand in the hand-held market. Its got a bad history, will probably be too big and clumsy and its come in the game too late. People don't need another handheld in the market. I also doubt Sony Online Entertainment will be developing for them

The first time N-Gage was released, all they really had to compete with on the games front was Gameboy Advance. Now they have DS and DSLite, which are setting sales records everywhere, the GBA SP and Micro, and the PSP.
