GR: "Over the past 25 years, we’ve seen Sony go from being an unproven gaming hardware manufacturer to experiencing widespread commercial success with the PlayStation 2 and 4. The reason they have been able to last so long is due to their technological know-how and their knack for innovation."
Games Asylum: "Well, this is uncanny. This school management sim bears a startling resemblance to Two Point Campus, especially when it comes to planning and decorating rooms. Be sure to add a window and a radiator, along with a plant or rubbish bin. Indeed, certain aspects are almost identical – it’s just like revisiting Two Point Campus, only something is…off. It’s the visual style that leads to the uncanny valley feeling, using a low-poly PlayStation/Saturn aesthetic. An odd choice, considering the 32-bit consoles didn’t have a great amount of management sims. The PS1 did have Theme Hospital though – with Two Point Hospital being Campus’ predecessor, so we guess we can give it a pass on its artistic intent."
I almost bought this yesterday lol. Then I remembered I have 1000 games I need to play and I would probably touch this once.

The last major game innovation was done by Nintendo in 96
I remember when PlayStation launched, I wasn't too sure because I was a rabid Nintendo fan. Well I got an N64 Xmas 96 and a PS1 Xmas 97 and my go DS was I blown away! RE Directors Cut with a RE2 demo and Nightmare Creatures were my first games. But when I played Metal Gear Solid I knew gaming was changing and there was so much more than I'd ever imagined. The dual analog sticks was game changing at the time as well. The DVD in the PS2 was very welcome as was the Blu Ray player in the PS3. Dreams is an example of recent innovation in that you can literally create any game you want, any!
That gen was awesome but the PS2 era was even better! I sit back and think about all the memories I've collected playing PS exclusives these last two decades and it just puts a smile on my face.
They were the first to fund and develop affordable VR. They've been working on it since the 90's and they've made almost 2 billion dollars gross. Pretty incredible and I can't wait to get my hands on a PS5! But the main thing that makes me a Sony fan is their dedication to narrative and character driven SP games. Emphasis on SP.

"to experiencing widespread commercial success with the PlayStation 2 and 4"
I'd argue 1,2, 3 and 4 all experienced widespread commercial success as even the PS3 outsold the 360 in the end and not many Nintendo consoles have reached these heights, just the Wii (the Switch is on course to as well).
