Sony today announced that the PlayStation is now the best selling home video console as per the Guinness World Records.
Congrats and one last thing to end the year with.
The world's gaming brand. Sony couldn't of done it without the worldwide appeal they earned.
It's so funny in a disgracefully pathetic way how Fatal1ty's comment was deemed "Inappropriate" and is now being hidden to not trigger any Xbox fanboys (whom obviously would only reasonably be in this forum to just troll and spout fanatic naysay against Playstation). Playstation is the King of Gaming in many aspects, so get over it all you gaming snowflakes. #FactsOverFeelings
You may be right, but The fact you used a hashtag made me puke in my mouth a little.
Congratulations! Sony has another 100 million console seller incoming with the PS5 Powerful hardware mixed with the ease of getting code up and running on the PS5 and WWS will ensure that we get some good games And sequels to some of the biggest games are coming GOW Spider-man Horizon ZD Days Gone
I thought Michaeal Pachter and a few others said console gaming was dying? Congrats Sony and I expect next gen to do well too.
Don't listen to em, consoles will outlive us all.
I'm not from around these parts. . . Consoles will in fact perish before I evolve again
Lol right and they said mobile gaming would take over lol
It will eventually when all things are hosted from the cloud. You can downvote me but it's what will happen after this upcoming gen.
@drail I know you cant speak for everyone....but do you, and those who think like you, ever get tired of just being wrong all the time? I mean...like always wrong?
I didn't know Shu had an N4G account.
FFVII:R let's go!
Thats going to move massive amounts of PS4. Then there is The Last of Us 2
Playstation. Best place to play, so we'll deserved
Well deserved and those sales will only increase. Excited for PS5 next year too
Well deserved. Esspecially when it comes to exclusives, they have completely dominated the competition. Microsoft didnt show up and the switch best year for games was still its first year with mario and zelda, they haven't come close to it since.
“The best selling home console in the history of gaming” says REPUTABLE 3RD PARTY. Not self-touting. I hope you’re taking notes Microsoft.
Guinness has been doing this since what, 1955? I don’t know how to say this in plainer english Imortus, but they’re not in it for the console wars.
I'll give the xbox fanboys their counter argument as a freebie since it takes then time to figure things out. Not my opinion mind you but We cant possibly know if this is true, because MS stopped reporting numbers, and they surely are pretty close.
Insane milestone. Congrats to Sony!
The next one to add to the legacy will be the PS5. Exciting times.
It has become a world religion
And some people say I'm trolling when I'm saying the Playstation is the best gaming device of the whole game industry, hehe prove me wrong then. ;)
Ken the man.🤗👍
Sony continues its dominance, for the past 25 years it's been killing it and will do so for the next 25.
I'm just happy our industry is flourishing. The hard work of these developers and their teams make this all possible and I mean that for all systems.
Congrats, but was this ever a doubt? Playstation Domination...
What an achievement. This is no longer a matter of opinion. This is a fact. PlayStation is the best selling home video game console. Simply #1. Congratulations to Sony and the loyal PlayStation nation. We close this generation on top and will start a new one on fire.
Way to celebrate 25 years of PlayStation. To another 25 years of history in the making.
congrats to sony more than 20 years of greatness can't wait for PS5!
Nintendo is of course the company that revived the gaming industry from the ashes of the early 80's Atari era (Thanks alot for that, E.T.) but Sony is just as much of a pioneer and Playstation is at the Very Least just as much of a cornerstone of the Gaming industry today as Nintendo has been; This GWR accolade is very well deserved and expected. (and of course given the history of the original Playstation and how it only came to be because Nintendo reneged on their cd add-on project for the Super Nintendo and Sony did not want to waste all the R&D for it, so they decided to release a console of their own, I'm sure Nintendo has now long been kicking themselves in the balls for inadvertently spawing the Playstation empire.) Anytime you hear even an inkling of any such tout concerning the Xbox, you only hear it from Xbox employees like Aaron Greenburg and Phil Spencer (and of course from the Xbox fanboys that do it for free because they have nothing else meaningful to occupy their time), and NEVER from any independent third-party association like Guiness World Records.
PlayStation deserves it. Sony has consistently released great consoles with a wide selection of games spanning from top-rated to criminally underrated. Their philosophy has always been about providing great games, and they and their studios seem to, for the most part, be more open to feedback than their competitors. There are notable blights like their recent censorship policies, but no company is perfect and PlayStation has still overall been more consistent with how I think a console manufacturer should do business. The PlayStation fandom has, in my experience, been far less toxic than the fandoms for its competitors and is far more open to discussing PlayStation’s shortcomings and how it can improve than fans of other systems are with their systems of choice. So, yeah, I think PlayStation deserves every accolade it has received and hope it acts as a shining example to its competitors that it’s possible to not only set a high bar for great products and service, but to be highly successful while doing it.
Didn't it use to be Nintendo as the highest Brand ever? Now it belongs to Sony's PlayStation. HAH! Damn straight it does!!
Gratz Sony I'm ready for more awesome times.
Kutaragi-sama! Where have you been?!
