Bluepoint is back to making more obscure tweets that could be teasing the developer's next project.

Would have been easy pickings if they said "Let strength be granted so the world might be mended." "So the world might be mended."

Sounds like two games though instead of one that they're working on. They are tempted to say but can't say just yet. Holiday announcement coming? A compilation of games?

neutralgamer19922032d ago

I wonder when Sony will announce this acquisition of blue point games. They have grown a lot and you are right they have more projects in the pipeline

DogJosha2032d ago

Imagine a smaller company like Bluepoint walking into Sega asking to make a Skies of Arcadia remake. Sega being a much bigger company would have more bargaining chips, which means they could pressure Bluepoint into a deal that greatly benefits Sega, while still being reasonable for Bluepoint. In that case, the game is more likely to be greenlit by Sega. On the other hand, if they were to be acquired by Sony, Sony would push for certain things like exclusivity, publishing rights, and maybe even some part ownership in the IP. Yes, they may still be able to work out some middle ground and a deal can still be struck, but it isn't nearly as likely as it would have been.

Why would you want to limit Bluepoint as much as possible by having them being acquired by one of the big 3? That means 2 companies will automatically lose remake potentials, and all 3rd party IPs become less likely. I don't know about you, but most of the games I would want remade come from 3rd parties.

Hardiman2031d ago

Hey DogJosha because Sony allows devs to be as creative and imaginative as they want! They have the most talented Studios in the business. Sure things happen nothing is perfect but when the positives greatly outweigh the negatives it's just common sense! If I was a studio that was going to be acquired I'd go with Sony every time!

neutralgamer19922031d ago

Dog

By that logic why did Ms but all those studios? It's business and it's already done only matter of announcement. I said months before insomniac news that Sony bought them and was laughed at. If you think Sony didn't see ms make a big deal out of acquiring those studios just wait till E3. People aren't ready for what's about to come

The days of independent 3rd party are over so now developers have a choice and that is which console maker or publisher do they want to be under. Don't believe me insomniac were one of the most successful and financially stable companies yet they even understand that game development costs keep going up and its a huge risk up self fund

Just wait till reveal of Ps5 and E3

@Hardiman
"Sony allows devs to be as creative and imaginative as they want"
Not true, but I will avoid that topic.
"positives greatly outweigh the negatives it's just common sense"
Right, so why would you want the company to be limited to 1/20th of the library of classic games to be able to remaster? That is the negatives greatly outweighing the positives.

@neutralgamer1992
By what logic? I'm saying the best case scenario is them staying independent. MS buying studios is a perfect example. They pretty much destroyed Rare by acquiring them along with a bunch of other studios. So the question I posed to you guys, I will pose again. Why would you want a studio focused who focuses on remakes to be limited to a single company?
"The days of independent 3rd party are over"
The big 3 don't have infinite spending power. Also, as they acquire studios, people leave those studios and start new studios. Finally, are you saying all I have to do is open my own indie studio and Sony will just start forking over money to me?

neutralgamer19922029d ago

DogJosha

you can't keep bringing up rare again and again(by you i don't mean just you but others) Rare was never the same studio because original members weren't part of acquisition(or not many stayed)

Bluepoint games would have closed it doors had it not been for sony maybe you should look at their history. 3RD party publishers weren't cal;ling them to offer any great working opportunities. SOTC was a huge test for the studio/sony and sony were quite happy i would assume with the result. No matter what anyone says as a publisher sony does provide creative freedom more than others(sony aren't the only ones and that's not what i am saying) and these developers have families to feed so if enough money is thrown their way they have to look at it. Insomniac are the perfect example of that for over 10 years they kept saying no to sony, ms and others. They have stable studio with good amount of money and had enough 3rd party working deals to survive for next few years but they knew moving forward cost of development is going way too high and they can't take chance

ms sony nintendo all have billions to spend on buying new studios so might not be infinite but they have enough to buy EA, UBi and take two

The Wood2032d ago

Sony should just buy them already

lifeisgamesok2032d ago (Edited 2032d ago )

Here's some games that I think would be great for Bluepoint to remake for the PS5

Resistance 3
Legend of Dragoon
Uncharted 2
Metal Gear Solid
Demon Souls
Killzone 2
Infamous 1 or 2

zsquaresoff2032d ago

Infamous 1 and 2 would be awesome along with metal gear solid 3

lifeisgamesok2032d ago

That would be great. Sony has a lot of older IPs that could be remade to make a big splash

autobotdan2031d ago

They dont do remakes. They do remasters

Elda2031d ago (Edited 2031d ago )

Nope. When a developer takes an original old gen game & build it all over again from the ground up with current gen technology that is a remake.Taking an original old gen game leaving it in it's original form by touching it up with a fresh coat of paint & implementing some textures & upscaling the resolution & the fps while implementing a few other things is a remaster.

BlaqMagiq12031d ago

They remade Shadow of the Colossus from the ground up.

KwietStorm_BLM2031d ago

There's this game called Shadow of the Colossus. You should check it out.

Hardiman2031d ago (Edited 2031d ago )

Remasters are just recoats of paint. Remakes are demolishing and then rebuilding!

autobotdan2031d ago (Edited 2031d ago )

Okay I will have to hunt down and try Shwodow of the Collosus remake

EmperorDalek2031d ago

@Elda - Sure, that's how they're made. But they add literally nothing to the core game. A proper remake should be an entirely new game like Resident Evil 2, otherwise it's just a glorified remaster.

I'd love a remake of Resistance 3. I got it from Christmas years ago but before I could start playing it my PS3 broke:(

jeremyj29132031d ago

I loved that game so much. I would be so happy if Resistance made a comeback.

lifeisgamesok2031d ago

That sucks :( but yeah a Resistance 3 remade with next generation graphics would be a great addition as a FPS and to test the waters for a Resistance 4 or a spinoff

neutralgamer19922031d ago (Edited 2031d ago )

Rumor has it

Demon souls remake

2nd game is a playstation classic IP

GG 2nd team is remaking socom or rebooting

I think reveal of Ps5 and E3 will be very exciting with some huge blockbuster news

MajorLazer2031d ago

Please, please, please be Demon's Souls

SprigganN4G2030d ago

Sony should buy these 4 IPs from Konami, pay whatever Konami wants for them and let them still use the IP for Pachinko machines only:

Metal Gear
Silent Hill
Castlevania
Zone of the Enders

The kindling bit obviously makes me think of Souls games.

Enturax2032d ago

The fact you got dislikes proves how many manbabies are using this site.

Or that they don't like dunkey...

LucasRuinedChildhood2031d ago

The joke has gotten a bit old, to be fair

Juusterey2031d ago

oh the horror
imagine 19 manbabies on one website :o
funny how you're saying that in a reply to somebody named Poopmist too

Mr Marvel2031d ago

I know you're joking, but it's just not funny.

jukins2031d ago

I'd like sony Japan to continue. Knack 1 was good but knack 2 was/is one of the most underrated games. Had good platforming fighting puzzles jump in jump out co op and its dynamic difficulty meant anyone could play and get a challenge

Playdead co-founder slammed with lawsuit as bitter row with co-founder escalates

Playdead co-founder Dino Patti is allegedly being sued by his former studio and business partner.
Patti was threatened with a lawsuit earlier this year after he posted a now-deleted LinkedIn post that shared an "unauthorized" picture of co-founder Arnt Jensen and discussed some of Limbo's development. Patti said Jensen demanded a little over $73,000 in "suitable compensation and reimbursement," adding that he had "repeatedly" had such letters over the last nine years.
