We're coming up on the next wave of major ARPGs with Diablo 4, Path of Exile 2, Torchlight Frontiers, and even Minecraft Dungeons. There's a lot of new content being set up for exploration and hack and slash action. Yet, little of the gameplay has changed little since 1996.
Blizzard’s Diablo 4 is almost two years old with the game’s upcoming anniversary taking place on June 5, 2025. While no official announcement has been made from Blizzard about its contents, the ARPG developer is releasing a new event for the game’s second anniversary.
Was interested in purchasing Diablo 4 but after watching 10 hour video on YouTube changed my mind . Too many cut scenes than gameplay actions, I want to play the game Not watch mini movie in a game LoL 🤣🤣🤣
And there's no bundle
Path of exile 2 0.2.0g introduces a deep revision to how item drops are calculated—focusing especially on Monster Item Rarity, loot tiering, and guaranteed boss rewards. While previous systems leaned heavily on Item Quantity, this new approach prioritizes the quality of drops through refined rarity scaling.
Very excited about Darksiders Genesis, hoping it helps.
Really wish they would. ARPGs, RTS and tactical games needs to be more of a focus for next gen rather than huge open worlds with the same fetch quests and phony side missions that add nothing to the main story other than to grid experience points.
ARPGS are alive and thriving.
FFXV, WItcher 3, Souls series, Nier Automata and Darksiders are all great ARPGS.
