Dauntless Cross-Play Has Ballooned the Player Base to 15 Million

I mean technically wouldn't the playerbase have been the same size? Just that now they can all play together.

The argument is that as the game is free, having Crossplay motivates more people to download it in order to play with their friends that are on another platform. So people that wouldn't play it before are now playing it, thus inflating the player base.

Personally I'm surprised that the game is keeping up with such a big player base for so long. Because at least at launch, it was a rather monotonous game with not much in terms of variety.

fair enough, I just meant those who were playing the game were probably already playing it. Now they just get a larger pool of players to pull from meaning easier to find matches, etc.
