Exactly like that people Delusional and blind and some what too stupid to see this is all a big show

aconnellan2049d ago

Is it the same though? You have to own a PS4 for shareplay. And then to do couch co-op you’d have to take it plus a TV to someone’s house

To my understanding you won’t need to own an Xbox with xCloud. Plus it’s on your phone, which is a far cry from lugging a console/TV around

SamPao2049d ago

@aconnellan

you do have to own a ps4 for shareplay but you dont have to take it to someones house to couch coop, because you can just invite that person into a group and play the game together without the other person having the game. Thats what shareplay is. Play together only 1 owns the game.

Aconnellan - lol, youre replying to THC in an xbox article... of course its not the same, lol.

No, it's referring to "couch co-op," as in people playing an online multiplayer game together in the same room with one person using xCloud. That is not the same thing as Share Play.

Choudhry again: "Sea of Thieves [one of the games in Preview] doesn't support couch co-op. People in the programme are using Project xCloud to create a couch co-op experience. When I'm playing at home, one of my kids is playing on Xbox One X, another is on my Surface Book 2 and I'm sat right next to them on Project xCloud. We're all in the same room playing together. A good percentage of the love notes we've received have been about someone else in the household monopolising a TV yet they can now still play."

Skuletor2049d ago

Oh cool, like Steam 's Remote Play Together feature they introduced last month
https://www.theverge.com/20...

Zeref2049d ago

That's more like remote splitscreen.

Because GamePass combined with xCloud doesn't require an Xbox. People can use xCloud to recreate an Couch co-op like experience.

One person on the native Xbox. 3 people using xCloud on their phone. Or everyone on their phone.
Because of the portability of phones you can all game in the same place without someone having to bring an Xbox or TV. Which creates a couch Co op like experience. This is one of the benefits of streaming.

xCloud could bring back couch gaming in a new way.

The best thing going for xCloud is that it's going to be included with GamePass. It'll be hard for Stadia to compete with the model they're trying to push for. There is no reality where I will pay full price for a game and can't download it.

FanboySpotter2049d ago

The only way to play stadia is through stream. Xcloud is just an option.

2049d ago
NotoriousWhiz2049d ago

I'm all in once I can stream from my Xbox one to my Switch.

roadkillers2049d ago

Well, Stadia hasn't even released yet.. Streaming is the future, whoever gets the ball and runs with it is up in the air

Lol did this with my brother for some forge on HALO 5.

Magog2049d ago

A shame they don't actually make couch coop games anymore.

timotim2049d ago

I believe the new Battletoads will be couch coop and Gears 5 is as well.

ReadyPlayer222049d ago

Gears 5 and Halo: Infinite have couch coop.

FanboySpotter2049d ago

I still play MCC splitscreen. Waiting for halo reach addition for some more splitscreen time

It’s really old now. All great MMOs decline.

PRIMORDUS19h ago

Also who wants to keep paying a monthly fee every month, there are other options like Guild Wars 2 😁with no monthly fee and while not that many people overall compared to FF XIV, it did increase to about 21 mil now.

Sephiroushin9h ago(Edited 9h ago)

I prefer to pay since i do not like guild wars and it keep kids away, but FF14 decreased on quality since they started to make it "more accessible", tried throne and liberty and while it was okay it has so many issues, same for dune awakening... Its time to start making a new FF MMO

TheColbertinator1d 1h ago

Time for the Final Fantasy 17 MMO

kaewcha73420h ago

Looks like Square Enix is self-aware but still stuck in place, they see the player drop and apologize for the bugs, but nothing really changes. Shame, FFXIV used to be the gold standard

Servbot4119h ago

My entire free company has stopped playing. The writing has consistently gotten worse and the content is sparse and lacking; unless you are a hardcore player there's very little for you to do. They are over-catering to the people who will grind three+ times a week on a single fight for multiple months when the playerbase by large doesn't want that sort of content. Square needs to dedicate more resources to the game instead of wasting them on mobile and other live service slop.

Miraak82 13h ago

The biggest factor for me is the way they butchered job design over the years , the casualization and over simplification really hurt a good chunk of enjoyment I used to have . Jobs lost any form of complexity and just became " press glowing button" DDR style for fighting where the gameplay loop is a about the 2 minute burst window . They removed most DoTS, timer mechanics , cast times, pets, RNG ect and all around homogenized everything . When you try and can cater to everyone ... you cater to no one .

Glad, I’m about to downgrade when they raise the price. For me, I don’t really access much or care about the games they have in the library and if I do, it’d be cheaper to just buy them over time rather than stick to some expensive subscription model.

crazyCoconuts4d ago

When you're new to the service you've got an avalanche of games to play. After you catch up, I agree, it's not worth it beyond the Essential tier for me.
That being said, the Essential tier is the best deal in console gaming imo, based on the monthly games you get to keep.

Profchaos3d ago

Yeah same will be downgrading $214 aud is insane and we don't even get the streaming capabilities in Australia which they said would make the top level subscription cheaper.

If i was to just buy the games I actually play that come to the service id be far better off.

Ill keep the essential tier to retain the games ive collected since the ps3 and for mp but I'm not convinced of the premium tiers value any more

victorMaje3d ago

Went back to essential a few months ago. I’m buying more physical and it has helped in finishing more games.

Profchaos3d ago

Tend to agree if i go to the trouble of buying a disc ill typically finish it

Alos884d ago

Extra is probably the best value for money right now, Premium doesn't have anything special enough to justify paying the additional imo.

OtterX4d ago

*unless you have a Portal & you catch Premium on discount during Days of Play or Black Friday.

Yea, I really do wish they'd up their effort on Premium titles, but allowing a large catalog of titles that can stream to your Portal without even having to use your PS5 is pretty awesome. We travel about 2 hours to stay with my inlaws from time to time, so it's been pretty killer to only need to take my Portal for that!

andy854d ago

Yup if you have a portal premium is the best tier for sure

KyRo3d ago

Extra has been getting worse and worse each month. I've had it since it's launch and it's been great to play some games I may not have played but the selection has been declining rapidly for a while now. My sub runs out in August and I'll be going back to essential. They actually add games to that which are more appealing.

jznrpg4d ago

Add some more classics with trophies. Vagrant Story first

OtterX4d ago

Nice choice. I agree!

Jeanne D'Arc was my favorite PS+ catalog title from last year & I Platinumed it!

Eonjay4d ago

I like Ridge Racer, Tekken and Grandia. Add Xenogears, digimon World 3, Classic GTA and ill be happy

jznrpg3d ago

Jeanne D’Arc was great!

@Eonjay there is a Grandia collection available for PS4, I’m not sure if it’s been on plus already or not

darthv724d ago

cloud streaming to the portal, without using the ps5, is the selling point of premium to me.

Obscure_Observer4d ago

If the consumers are happy, Sony is even happier.

It is what it is.
