I'm really enjoying my Switch! Pretty good library of games and I've been playing more portable here lately (I never could really enjoy the DS because of screen size) but I like the bigger screen on the Switch. Between it and the PS4 I'm having a ball this gen. Can't wait till the next one!

PhoenixUp2037d ago

Idk how anybody can question if Switch can surpass 100 million at this point

mkis0072037d ago (Edited 2037d ago )

Next gen will slow sales. Depends on if they come out with a 'new' switch that isnt bc with original switch

Segata2037d ago

I believe it's on pace to hit 104 million sold lifetime.

Switch is honestly an astounding success story. When Nintendo first announced they'd be dropping Wii U and making a brand new system, my initial thought was "Good luck catching up to the competition. They've had a 3 year headstart." But lo and behold, they've almost outsold the Xbox One and Switch keeps topping monthly sales lists. Pretty impressive if you ask me.

m2stech2037d ago

It would be more relevant if you compare its sales to DS, PSP and mobile phones.

PhoenixUp2036d ago

The article does compare its sales to DS & 3DS

Neonridr2036d ago

well it's over half the total PSP sales no?

NapalmSanctuary2036d ago

WTF does the Switch have to do with mobile phones. For that matter, what does DS and PSP have to do with mobile phones. Completely different types of games for completely different markets..

The Switch is not a dedicated portable device. Its a home console with portability options.

Gemmol2035d ago

Switch is put as a console you don’t compare what you want.....when NPD compare sales they compare it against other consoles not handheld

I honestly feel the thing holding the Switch back from more sales is a lack of a web browser and apps. If the Switch was a decent media device it would sell boatloads more. I'm saying this as a Switch owner. Nintendo needs to broaden their vision.

Elronza2036d ago

The disagreements just prove why Nintendo does the bare minimum, and why their systems are always lacking features that would make them appealing to others outside of gamers.

Gemmol2035d ago

Disagreement is because not everyone want what you just said even if Nintendo add it will I honestly choose it over the apps on my 4K HDR set???? The answer is no

I have a ps4 and never use YouTube on it or any of those streaming apps

People see the numbers the ones on our tv are much better than what it use to be on the older 1080p TVs from back then

And these apps get updated all the time like a phone app on our tv

It just don’t make sense to divert resource

I tried the Hulu app on switch I even tried YouTube app it’s just better on your tv it loads super fast and instantly

Maybe if I had a cheaper 4K tv that load slowly then maybe it would make sense

So its official. Switch 2 dethroned PS2 in Japan for the biggest hardware launch ever.

Tripled the switch launch numbers, yeah Nintendo's domination of the Japanese market is going smooth

repsahj1d 15h ago

And take note. This is just for retail sales only; sales from the Nintendo Japanese website are not yet included.

Not even a full week of sales either.

Tempting... but I have to say I am more of an arcade deluxe cab fan. I loved the ones for Galaxy Force, Thunder Blade and After Burner.
