Save a click...he didn't even mention Bioshock, let alone bioshock 3..click bait.

Bioshock 4 surely, I know the third was called Infinite not 3 but it wasn't a spin off it was the third main game in the series. They just wanted to give it a fancier name.

Either way I hope it's true I'm more than ready for a return to that world.

Three wasn't a sequel to the story of the first two. It was in the same world, sort of, and had connections to Rapture. I consider it a sequel in the series though. The infinite name was more because of what the conclusion revealed, more than trying to give it a fancy name.

Nacho_Z1626d ago

Yeah I know I played it, if they'd called it Bioshock 3 - Infinite that would probably have been most accurate. Bioshock doesn't mean Rapture so a third game in the series still counts as the third game even if they didn't want to number it.

As we agree by the sounds of it.

Two sides of the same coin I suppose. I think it's just a matter of semantics. Loved the series though, and would welcome another game, although I hope they find someone as passionate as Ken Levine. Was kind of disappointed that they never did a Vita version he said he'd like to make. Kind of makes me want to go back and play Infinite though. Kind of forgot how some of the story went, especially the DLC story.

I wonder what they'll do next?

It has to be another world, there's not much you can do with Rapture and with Infinite the story was nicely wrapped up

If "There's always a lighthouse. There's always a man. There's always a city" then I'm guessing they'll need to find a new location.

A city on the Moon? Underground near the Earths Core? An Island in the middle of the ocean? Built hidden within some mountains?

Smokehouse1626d ago

Steampunk underground and at the earths core would be cool. Levine not being around kinda sucks but he didn’t have much involvement with 2 either I believe and that’s good. Hopefully it’s taking so long because they are trying to treat it right and not just a cash in. There is no way I wouldn’t buy bioshock 4 though. It’s my favorite series.

CyrusLemont1626d ago

I really wouldn’t mind a redo of Rapture on next gen, more open world, non-linear with metroidvania elements of sorts. Also add more creep and horror, the first teaser for Bioshock was dripping in atmosphere.

ibrake4naps1626d ago

The moon idea is good, as long as it's within a base with earth like gravity. I like the idea of creating a utopian city on the moon to get away from the craziness here. The timing is good too, with bezos and musk planning projects there...

Your comment makes me think the guy who creates it has to be the professor Farnsworth from Futurama, with the prologue showing him saying, "I don't want to live on this planet anymore".

clickbait as a mofo. Gamerant looking for some traffic.

Isn't the studio already dead?
