"XS Sales Down Just 2% YoY".... they are turning it around boys... hold the line!!!!
/s
down 2% from an already low number is still bad. and if we look a little closer, 140K of those sales were from US alone, meaning that a meager 65K sold to the rest of the global market. outside of the US, xbox is a dead brand. and it is holding on by a string in its strongest territory. this is why MS had to go multiplatform. low xboxes sales means fewer gamepass subscriptions, which means you can't afford to put hundred million dollar budget games on the service anymore.
For the Switch to be down 37% with the same price shows that nearly everyone is just waiting on the Switch 2.
I gotta say I didn't expect PS5 sales to be down only 14% year-on-year, thought the decline would be higher.
Interesting:
PS5 being down 382k units compared to PS4's April in 2018 is probably the result of the God of War reboot release in April 2018.
It was even the later half of April, the 20th.
Great exclusives can have a pretty strong impact on hardware sales I guess.
Looks to me like the Switch is doing slightly better.
basically xbox being demolished. Let's see if they can bounce back like Nintendo did with the switch.
Dang im really happy with what the Switch and PS4 are doing. XBOX needs to do much better though.
