Suspicious of any game that has an embargo until its release date.

FinalAeonX2002d ago (Edited 2002d ago )

Not always. You're just saying that because it's EA.

THC CELL2002d ago

Finalaeonx really did u just say that lol

Hardiman2002d ago (Edited 2002d ago )

Well track records and all that!

leoms2002d ago

Uhm... yeah shouldn't he?

-Foxtrot2002d ago

I think it being EA with their long shitty history has let anyone have scepticism

rainslacker2002d ago

While I dont prescribe to it being suspicious, in EAs case, they have a bad habit of bad releases. On the other hand, they also receive a lot of grief regardless of if their game is steeped in controversy, so I can also see why they'd want to avoid that a week from release.

Mr Marvel2001d ago

I doubt that's why he said it. People say it every time there's a review embargo too close to release.

I read your message as "R2D2?"... thinking it was something to do with droids, then I realised you were referring to Red Dead 2.

cyber_daemonx2002d ago

Pretty much all aaa's have embargo's nowadays regardless of the publisher.

neutralgamer19922001d ago

Yes but usually they let reviews come out few days before release but some of the shady publishers hold back reviews until day of release

vulsker2002d ago

I agree and on top of that, its removed from EA Access early trial.

TheLeapist2002d ago

Doom 2016, Astrobot, Dishonored 2, Zelda BOTW. All these games had a release day (or extremely close to it) review embargo and yet still got great scores. It's not always about hiding a crappy game until the last minute. There are lots of reasons a company might choose to do it.

Profchaos2002d ago

Most games do rdr2 for example

Very dodgy, holding back the truth of this games quality so long...

aaronaton2002d ago

I'm anticipating a solid 50 on metacritic, anything higher and i'll see that as suspicious.

FernDiggidy2002d ago

Because he's edgy as f#ck

eamonn792002d ago

Solid 50? have you watched any of the dev videos? Read any of the previews? To me it sounds like you haven't, 50 that's just ignorance showing through. What constitutes an 85 - 100 for you? Please enlighten me/us......

CaptainObvious8782002d ago

Have you been living under a rock for the last few years?

The game has a straight white male as the protagonist. To get an accurate review score, you'll need to basically add 3 to most reviews.

T2X2002d ago

I'm sure this will be solid 80 on MC. At least.

Respawn makes some quality shit sir, look it up.

Lmcreach2002d ago

As if I am going to make a decision based on reviews written by people who have sworn an oath to hate and crush any thought, belief or opinion not fully aligned with their own.

Your comment and thoughts are insane (and nonsensical).

You should keep basing decisions on marketing teams and budgets then. Delete your account.

They're not looking to acquire, but are they looking to be acquired? That's the big question now with companies like EA, T2, etc.

badboyz09642d ago

EA relies way to much on their licensed ip's which isn't a good thing for a Buyer.

-Foxtrot643d ago

I really want them to finish up Cal's story so LucasFilm are free to use him in a TV show or Film if he survives in the end anyway

Cal or Ezra should be rebuilding the Jedi Temple Order...not Rey.

CrimsonWing69642d ago

Please do. These Jedi games have been exceptionally top tier.

StarkR3ality641d ago

Other than their performance but yeah

CrimsonWing69641d ago

I didn’t really run into performance issues, but I played it on PS5.

neomahi642d ago

We don't want it, let someone else develop Star Wars

Tacoboto642d ago

1. Yes we do want it
2. One of the biggest recent announcements has been Star Wars Outlaws, developed by someone else.
