Pokemon Sword and Shield are coming out next week; it's time for critics upset over the removal of the National Pokedex to put up or shut up.

Look at the recent Smash Bros DLC character. Sakurai said "Developing them takes a lot of time, but it's for the fans."

The guy was talking about just a cameo character appearance for a stage background. The team went on to add 20 fully animated characters for a background character...a BACKGROUND CHARACTER.

While Game Freak are like "cut most of them, too hard"

It's better to have people question practices and products they don't agree with rather than quietly taking it up the a** and smiling about it.

The problem is certainly not people being too vocal, in fact, people need to be more vocal in order to inact change. This is true not only in gaming, but in every walk of life.

Sometimes, I wish everyone would take that track, but there is a place for valid criticism. Unfortunately, some people feel valid criticism also means trying their hardest to try and convince other people not to buy it, and treat those people like they are somehow stupid for even wanting to like something that they either want to hate, or don't find that appealing.

I don't really have anything against people expressing their criticisms. I don't like it when they go beyond that and push too hard to bring down fans, or try to absolutely destroy a game for whatever reason.

The article is saying that people need to either be serious and not buy it like they've been threatening to, or just buy it and be quiet since they're showing they'll buy it anyway and this isn't THAT important to them.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Personally 400 pokemon is more than enough for me in this game. I don't need every single pokemon every single time.

400 is way more than enough and they will most likely transfer across to the next Switch pokemon games like they did in the past.

It's like the old pokemon games but bigger and better in every way and that's all I ever personally wanted. I never expected it to have Witcher 3 graphics, I expected it to look like an Anime cartoon which is what Pokemon is.

There's some Pokemon in the Galar region they've chosen that because of what they've said in their past dex logs don't make sense.

For example Mudbray is supposed to be only found in Alola:

Dex Log: "Because it was hunted nearly to extinction when it lived all over the world, it is believed to run wild only in Alola"

So why is the Pokemon line in the Galar region? Same goes for Type-Null who was made to fight Ultra Beasts with no Ultra Beasts in the Galar region.

Then you have Pokemon with the way they are designed or what they are designed on that have been cut despite other Pokemon being added that again don't make sense.

Twelve year old Nintendo fanboys will accept anything and refuse to acknowledge any flaws with the console or any games on it. Keep enjoying your outdated online, reduced graphics and poor performance for all multiplatform releases, timed exclusives and rehashes of decades old franchises. Oh and $79.99 for an extra controller in 2019.

It's not even just the dex cut that lead to this fiasco. They claim the cut was because they wanted to improve the animations, etc. But they ended up being recycled from X&Y yet again. On top of that they cut tons of fun things out that people liked such as mega evolutions, seasons, contests, ball seals, world tournament, safari, a 2nd region, horde battles, battle tent, player search system, and the list goes on. The dex cut was just a catalyst that caused the uproar. I'm sure if GF actually put more effort into each pokemons animations, nobody would've complained. If they achieved a Battle Revolution level of animation at least, people would've swallowed the cuts and dealt with it. They can't say one thing then not do it.

It's not the lack of Pokemon that in worried about it's the lack of polish more than anything. But I'll wait until the game comes out before deciding if they put a good effort into it. From the footage I've seen the visuals seem a bit poor, the animations are rough and the framerate is unstable. If it improves to acceptable levels when it's released then I'll probably get the game since I do like the franchise quite a bit.

im a genuine fan of the series but at this point, i expect more.
why? cause its a console game. the games are expensive, the animations are lackluster, if its a space issue just tell us and we'll understand (dex), this is supposed to be the "next gen" Pokémon game.
thats why we criticise.
