Tgcom24 interviews Hideo Kojima on Death Stranding.
Well... haters gonna hate, my man.
Sounds like a losing battle to me. Better to just encourage people to not participate in social media, and instead, encourage real social interaction that isn't shallow or meaningless.
first it was about Trump and Brexit, now is about social media... Does this game has the answer to the meaning life?
But we already discovered that its 42.
O.k. this I have to disagree with Kojima. That overly emotional, pie in the sky attitude is what gets People killed. I'd expect more logic.
How can we reconnect when leftist totalitarians are censoring and banning everyone.
The same way you connect with crooked, lying, swampy white house that's literally trying to be totalitarian, literally trying to censor people and literally banning people based on race. Don't be a partisan hack. Country over party, or so they say....
He cant be more crooked and lying than the desperate democrats who spent three years on a Russia hoax before this Ukraine coup. Trump has done more for the black community than Obama, including comprehensive prison reform. He didnt ban any race lol he banned travel from muslim countries that are known to harbor jihadists. Censoring who? He is lambasted (loudly) by every liberal in this country they are allowed to imply death threats and nothing happens to them. Conservative figures cant even speak at a college without getting shut down by violent intolerant leftists. The only totalitarians censoring people daily are the Marxists that run our corporations/schools.
Why do you feel the need to lie to defend Trump, when is it too much. How is it a coup when people he choose for his administration are coming out with evidence against him??? And Trump literally went on TV to confess, right after Mulvany did the same. The Mueller report that came to the conclusion that Russia meddle in our election to help one candidate, same report was validated by all law enforcement agencies in the US. Same report that came to the conclusion that you can't indict a sitting President because it's congresses job. But Congress couldn't because Will Barr redacted the report to make Trump look good. Far from a hoax... Are you not paying attention, he tries to censor media and all critics and is making it near impossible for legal immigrants to come in. The guy who's own lawyers are in trouble with the law, yeah sorry, you can't get more crooked than that. Again party over country. F all bad politicians, specially Trump.
@ Atticus We get it, you watch a lot of CNN. Turn off the TV for a while, and get your head right.
If you want unity, be like Tulsi where she gather both parties to fix a valid issue like changing regimes or like fighting Hillary together. Stop categorizing people's suffering into different sides. You are too busy fighting the other side instead of fighting those who caused the issue.
Soffisticated_chap you don't get anything with that ad hominem. 😘
So you want to reconnect but then lambast one side as causing all the problems? Yes, you are the person the Death Stranding message is for. But you would rather build a wall than a bridge. Hopefully Kojima can reach you before the BT's consume you.
@kab... The story you are parroting is not based in reality, the trump appointed Republican justice dept was investigating russian interference in the 2016 election, plenty of trump's appointees and friends PLEADED GUILTY and are serving time as we speak.
Finding middle ground that is satisfactory to all, and keeping lines of communication open. At least attempting civil discourse, and when it breaks down instead of blaming other people, realize that you too have failed to have failed. Communication is a two way street, and while one person can indeed cause it all to stop, it doesn't mean that it has to end with hate. Great communicators can get their point across, and are usually better at bringing bullies around to seeing reason than people who just want to give up and start blaming others. You challenge the most stalwart with facts, and eventually they have no way to fall back on their opinions. Understanding that in a civil society, that compromises will have to be made. knowing that not everyone is going to have the same opinion or belief, and there is more than one way to achieve something? A good way to start is to stop labeling people as leftist totalitarians and using vastly exaggerated hyperbole to try and cast shame on those that don't agree with you. Social media makes these things harder, because it's not a real conversation that can go anywhere, as it allows people to run away from confrontation. But confronting issues and problems is how change happens. Crying and whining you're being oppressed and not getting your way only means you lose respect eventually. Look at the most powerful forces of change in history. They didn't cry about their problems. They spoke about them, and commanded respect. They forced people to think. They didn't demand respect then run away when people pushed back, they addressed those that challenged them. They didn't try to shame those people, they addressed the arguments that those people made. They didn't change the subject or get distracted. There isn't a single person that is at the forefront of any of these social movements which cause so much hate that is anywhere close to those who have affected positive change throughout history.
Yep wasting your time Hideo haters love to hate, sometimes I wonder why some play games because all they do is find fault anyway.
One of my favorite aspects of DS is the community! I love helping others with Lost packages and building structures or objects that will help someone! It's awesome when a sign is placed by another to warn you of BT's, Mules or Time Fall. Even though you can't see them you can feel them all around! I love when you call out you can hear a faint reply from another player! This is my type of online experience other than co op.
lol it's the solution for global warming!!!
A quote from Kojima: "I must say that the game received rave reviews, especially in Europe and Japan. Here in the United States, however, we have had stronger criticisms. Perhaps it is a difficult game to understand for a certain type of critic and audience. Americans are great fans of first-person shooters and Death Stranding is not, it flies higher." Talk about taking a dig at Americans.... Also, it's fine to talk about hate, and use the USA in a video game to put out a particular narrative on that topic, but when you are from a country that has no diversity of culture, like Japan, where there is only 1 - 2% of the population that is a visible minority, then you should keep your mouth shut.
What you said about Japan is correct but what Kojima observes about America is also correct. It's one big race and class war here. But it's true that Japan can't say too much about it seeing as they have no real diversity.
I don't want to hear Japanese complaining about the United States. Japan is upright only by the grace of America. We protect them, buy their consoles, TVs, all their anime crap, etc. If it weren't for the United States, North Korea, China, and Russia would have juggled Japan like rabid dogs juggle red meat. China has a bone to pick with Japan for their wartime aggression as do the Koreas, and Russia and Japan are still in dispute over territory. Granted, the United States has geopolitical interests in the region and helping Japan means helping themselves, but the fact still remains that the United States is propping them up and has been for years.
Americans just like actual fun gameplay. Even compared to other Japanese/European games, even compared to Kojimas own past games, Death Stranding is missing engaging gameplay. So dont blame it on us only liking FPS games. I thought he was supposed to be smart?
I think Americans like all sorts of different things. He generalized too heavily to make his point. But, he's not really wrong that many in the US are enamored with the games he describes. I know the US publishers certainly are.
He should have nothing but gratitude. Instead of gratitude he's crying and complaining while patting himself on the back. Ridiculous little guy.
I'm so tired of the notion that anyone who isn't into a game that isn't a shooter must only be able to tolerate shooters, or have the attention span for shooters. Flies higher. His head is flying high... up his ass.
lol hey in Kojima's world of logic flying up in ass makes sense, high IQ joke here :P.
Americans are probably supporting this pretentious prick more than any other demographic, but the review scores are making him cry. I haven't opened my copy, but now I'm definitely returning it.
Honestly i through he was better than that, he sounds even more pretentious than some of his fanboys. I kinda want to see this game flop now
He's not exactly wrong though. I've seen the same criticism about what americans like from American users on this very site and we're the people he's talking about for the most part. I mean, he probably could have left out the part that we are too dense to get it. Making such a generalized statement doesn't really a good way to make your point when trying to talk about an entire group of people. Quite personally, I think he's falsely attributing the mixed reception, which really isn't all that mixed, as valid criticism for the game, when I'd wager the bulk of it is just the console war crap that goes on with every exclusive release.
I think he's frustrated, rainslacker. He's irritated by some of the reviews from American outlets large and small, and to cope and justify, he's slamming first-person shooters and American consumers while aggrandizing himself yet again. That's what's happening. I think he's full of himself and he's angry, and I'm angry over what I've read. He's a childish, ungrateful man and he and his gameography can cease to exist for all I care. I understand that Death Stranding was his livelihood and perfecting his production was all he cared about for I don't even know how many years. Eight? Eight years, then some guy plays it and dumps on it and gives it a "3" in just over eight hours. He's frustrated and hurt, and I get it, but he went overboard. He needs to hide those feelings and just show gratitude. That's it.
Why would he be frustrated by the American reviews? It's not like he hasn't had games reviewed by American reviewers before, and there aren't that many that are negative.
He just explained that Europe and Japan were more favorable, but the United States outlets generally gave more criticism. Americans are too first-person shootery to grasp the high-flying genius of Death Stranding. Not the actual quote but close enough. Does that sentiment sound like a contented man to you? You're a smart guy, and I know you know what I'm talking about. It's human to get angry, especially when you've tried to perfect something for years, and a story has been your baby for years, then someone comes along and gives it a "3" and says it's one of the worst games he's ever played. Reviews like Stevivor's are why he's not thrilled, and most of those low, low reviews come from American outlets.
