Fallout 76 Vs. The Outer Worlds Who Did it Better

How about Fallout 4 or TOW? Everyone knows 76 is a dumpster fire.

FO4 has tons of more content. Yes, there are bugs, but still. Even TOW has bugs.

I love the 50s aesthetic of Fallout, but other than that, TOW beats Fallout pretty handily.

Clothing/Armor Combo
Perks
Playstyles
Companions/Make your own Robot Companion

You would think with a game called The Outer Worlds, there would be aliens. I saw none. Meanwhile, FO4 has one Zetan and aliens don't really have much to do with the game, unless the lore is to be believed and the Zetans caused the war.

Don't get me wrong Lighter, I still think Fallout 3 and 4 are fantastic games, and I can totally appreciate people preferring Fallout over Outer Worlds. It's also inevitable that Outer World will be more popular currently, being a new game along with the fact that Bethesda are extremely unpopular at the moment.

Outer Worlds is a better RPG than FO4.
It has more RPG depth, better dialogue, better conversation system, ect. With Obsidian's history with Fallout and recently Pillars it's obviously closer to a first person Fallout 1 or 2 than Fallout 4 maybe even 3.

Outer Worlds is fantastic and one of my favorites of this year. However I still prefer FO4 a bit more for now at least. As close to Fallout as Outer Worlds got, it just can't copy the feeling of playing a Fallout game. The aesthetic, the sound, the music, the art style, the setting, the world, even down to the Pipboy and UI are quite literally unable to be replicated outside of the series. And the lesser scale, not a knock on Outer Worlds, as after a bit I really started to enjoy the smaller group of planets and the diversity of locations that provided. But there is something about spending 100+ hours wandering the Captial Wasteland, Mojave, or Commonwealth that is absent in Outer Worlds.

Both are still fantastic imo, but Outer Worlds definitely shows the lack of RPG depth in FO4 especially. In the day of GAAS/live services with the hollowest of "RPG mechanics" Outer Worlds came at the right time, hopefully something Bethesda sees as they work on Starfield and Elder Scrolls.

Thanks for replying. I've been thinking: Starfield has been in development for a long time, probably even when Obsidian was making NV. I wonder if some people at Obsidian saw Starfield and got some ideas.

OT: I'm betting that TOW2 is set on just "one" planet, or mostly "that" one planet. ;)
