Nick writes: "If you fancy some GTA nostalgia, and/or want to dive back into the GTA IV package in its entirety, I would say that if nothing else strikes your fancy, The Ballad of Gay Tony should."
In my opinion this was by far the best part of the GTA IV trilogy. It was fun, didn't take itself too seriously, and was overall a more satisfying experience.
TL&D was alright, but it felt a bit dull to me. Johnny was a cool character but something just felt "off" about that expansion.
GTA IV itself was good overall, but at times it felt too serious. That seriousness and the "realism" had a negative impact on the gameplay. The writing and performances were a big step up for the series, but it could have benefited from lightening up a bit more often.
Yeah that always bothered me. They turned him into such a pussy in GTA V. It just didn't fit him. And the fact that he was back together with Ashley, and started a new chapter of The Lost? It just went against the ending of TL&D.
I played it once the final collection was out all the dlc and it was a great experience and just makes the way R acts with dlc now even more disappointing
Early Rockstar dlc was and still is my favourite to this day and they charged $15 for an extra 24 hours of content for GTA IV, and rdr.
I remember looking at mass effect 2 doc and buying it then feeling ripped off that it was only 2 hours of content per pack but now I'd happily settle for that.
I played Lost and the Damned thought it was boring but I did play Ballad of Gay Tony I thought it was great still have to finish it but from what I played I liked it.
This and the biker dlc were both so dope. I revisited this game on PC, with a mod bc the base game plays so bad. Lemme tell you, this game was/is fantastic
One of the very rare cases where DLC was done right. This is what DLC should have been, a proper expansion pack, not what it has become today.
Ballad of gay Tony was great
Back in a time when we got single player DLC for GTA when it was promised
