The main character in this game is such a bummer. He's not likable and the whiny kid and baby that follow you are so annoying.

It’s a bummer. When I first saw it I had high hopes. :(

If you thought it was going to be good just because how good the trailer was or because Sony was part of it, then your disappointment is deserving imo.

I'm not trying to sound like a jerk but I thought the game ending up like this was expected. First off, the early impressions were mixed. Second, only Sony Asia wanted to work on the game, not Europe or America. Third, this is Hexadrive's actual first "Triple-A" that they made. Fourth, Oasis Games was involved, and their track record was anything but amazing. And finally, it's literally based on a 2015 movie that's rarely talked about anymore, especially in the west. I think a video game based on Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon would have been much better.

Speaking of which, the game seems to be garnering a lot of controversy not just in Steam but among chinese gamers in general, with many of them speaking up on how much they felt ripped off. I think there was a video of the director of Hexadrive calling the game a "masterpiece" and apparently, due to negative feedback, he have since deleted the video. In fact, from what I have heard, most of the promotion for the game were a scam. For such an average chinese game that has been , it seems to stirred up a hefty amount of dispute.

I really wonder what's gonna happen next. Will Sony Asia acknowledge the game's issues? Will they still treat the game as if it was a success? Will they forgive the people who bought the game? Or will they completely ignore that the game even existed?

It seems like Lost Soul Aside really will be the only chinese game to set the standards.

Was hoping this would be good. I didn't know it was a movie tie-in though. That explains at least half of it.

If you thought the game was going to be good just because it looked stylish or because Sony was backing it up, then sadly you're not the only one, and this game isn't the only of its kind. The same can be said with most chinese games released on the PS4. They persuade you into think the game looks good, onlyfor you to play it and realise how barebones it is.

Monkey King: Hero is back – Review | The Loot Gaming

From the writer; ‘I spent a solid 9ish hours playing Monkey King and that is important to note because I’m not one to put myself through complete hell. It was enjoyable to a point. If you are a child, have a child, are a Monkey King mega fan or only like to play games about 15 minutes at a time you’ll LOVE this.

However, if you want something more complex and less annoying then you can play literally anything else.’

Monkey King: Hero Is Back Review - BunnyGaming

Since childhood, the fabled Chinese classical novel of the mythical but mischievous Monkey King aka Journey To The West has been told and retold so many times that it has been an important part of my memories growing up. The writer finds himself drawn into watching each series, movies or even animated adaptations each and every time there is a new one, (sorry Bruce Lee, you come second).

I saw the movie, so that made me not care about this game since its the same story but with lower quality graphics.
