Ghost Recon Breakpoint failed to outsell an 8-year-old game in launch quarter

According to The NPD Group, Ghost Recon Breakpoint failed to outsell Minecraft in Q3 2019 which is not much of a surprise since the latter is actually successful. It is still a game with 8 years under the belt but even that's not necessarily the worst of the comparisons.

It didn’t even outsell it’s predecessor. The bad sales caused the stocks to tank. It’s a bad game and an even worse ghost recon.

It’s not tactical, there’s no command, there’s no map planning, the AI isn’t smart, there are bullet sponges. This is ghost recon in name only.

Because this is the only Q3 2019 AAA title that didn't outperform Minecraft. NBA 2K20, Borderlands 3, Madden NFL 20, FIFA 20 all did.

While i dont like any games that require an internet connection, i am having fun with the game. Im not into pvp, so im only talking about the single player campaign and some of the co op. Both are actually pretty fun!

Its also a very pretty looking game too. Microtransactions can go, but i just dont buy them. What game doesnt have that nowadays?

To be fair very few games outsell Minecradt at launch but I hear this game is doing a lot less than its predecessor Wildlands.

When will game developers realise that good single player offline games are still the real deal. Look how successful AC Odyssey was. GR Wildlands was successful because it was a good single player offline experience with AI team-mates. Breakpoint got rid of the good points about Wildlands for some reason and are now paying the price. The same happened to Bethesda with Fallout 4... I could go on. FFS Wake up devs!
