Probably a shock value type of clickbait attempt. I think it was Variety who pulled something similar when The Division 2 was released. It was getting ratings in 7/10 to 9/10 range, Variety went with 3/10 and it even started trending for a while.

You're entitled to your own opinion on this and so are we. My opinion is that people like you have contributed to ruining many parts of gaming. People like you are absolute suckers, you will jump to the defense of any form of nickle and diming if it involves a game you like. The fact that you think these measly monthly "rewards" are a good deal proves how easily swayed you are. You are a dream come true for these companies, you are their favourite type of customer because they know you will give them more money for the most basic crap and they know you will always leap to their defense.

It's totally absurd that anybody would actually justify such a terrible subscription service.

In your article, you say it's the people not playing the game that are complaining.......yeah, so what? We complain about this kind of thing because we are sick of seeing these kind of things creep into other games. If you think we are being paranoid, then just look at the early stages of last gen. Bathesda sold horse armour as DLC, companies realised how much money could be made from stupid s*** like this so they all started doing it. Now look where we are, the most basic parts of a game these days are getting sold as DLC, like f****** save slots.

It is a bad deal. They withheld features from a $60 game that you have to pay $100 or more a year to get, and the features aren't even working properly at launch (funny, that's just like how the game was at launch)

Not to mention other games have done what they're doing and you don't need a $100+ subscription on top of buying the game for $30-60 or however much suckers paid for it.

Save your money people, go get Fallout 3/New Vegas and The Outer Worlds and stay far, far, FAR away from this disaster of a game.

Maybe they figure most people will only play for a month or two, so they want to maximize revenue for that month or two. Nothing about this game, even if it wasn't all jacked up from the start, suggests that it had any kind of staying power to make people stay engaged for the long term. Even if it wasn't released the way it was, there are much better games out there. Not saying there won't be those that wouldn't like it for the long term, because there are people playing obviously, but not enough to say that they should be investing effort on making content for this plan. They'd be better off just selling this stuff piece meal, because it's MT and DLC you lose when your sub runs out.
