ARE THEY SERIOUS?

They have the f***** nerve to do this, asking us to pay up front for features which should have been in this crappy game to begin with? That's crazy man.

They do this on the week aswell where Obsidian's The Outer Worlds is praised for being a great single player driven RPG game, some even saying "it's like a Bethesda game but without the bugs".

I'm flabbergasted

TheGoodestBoi2023d ago

Bethesda are very close to be in the same league as EA and Activision

Specter2292023d ago

Not close ... not after this. The games already filled with mtx it's right in par with both EA and Activision at this point.

SirBillyBones2023d ago

Don't forget Ubisoft, they're top of the scum pile too.

Pyrofire952022d ago (Edited 2022d ago )

I've at least seen some redeeming qualities in EA and Activision here and there. Bethesda Game Studios is a rotten piece of microwaved crap. This subscription effects the only people crazy enough to still play their "products". I can't see this as anything more or less than a huge middle finger to their only remaining fans.

The cohones on Bethesda....they've gone from clueless to bat shit crazy right when another studio just shown the world they can make a far far better Fallout game than they can anymore.

Man where is the gaming biz headed...

MONOLITHICIDE2023d ago

Exactly why im holding out on next gen.

MajorLazer2023d ago (Edited 2023d ago )

Another motherf**king subscription!! If you count them all up, you'll end a solid amount every year

S2Killinit2022d ago

Yup. The service lovers are in for a rude awakening.

KyRo2023d ago (Edited 2023d ago )

I cannot wait for Jim Sterling's rant on this. It will definitely be coming with this news lol

Edit: I'm to late. He's already made one xD

Relientk772023d ago

I hope Angry Joe does an angry rant on this too

MasterCornholio2023d ago

@Relient

Angry Joe did one as well.

Relientk772023d ago

Maybe Bethesda wants us to buy and support The Outer Worlds?

Bethesda straight kamikaze right now lol

rainslacker2023d ago (Edited 2023d ago )

This is kind of beyond EA. EA tends to be crappy from the start of release, and maintains it, or tries in some way to make it better. Bethesda skipped the part of making it better to charge people for a season pass which doesn't really offer up that much.

I mean, they create a limit on storage, then sell you a way to make it bigger. That's just wrong on many levels, and something that if other publishers decide to go that route, will become routine on many games from these crap companies. Could you imagine all games having a limited inventory like Borderlands, but instead of getting storage upgrades through game, you had to shell out another $10-20. In the case of this sub, you probably have to keep subscribing or lose the added storage. Just crap all around.

badz1492022d ago

Full EA? what? at least EA is considering for Anthem to go F2P but Bethesda is going full-on subscription...$100/year nonetheless!!

even EA is ashamed by this!

SegaGamer2023d ago

"I'm flabbergasted"

I'm not. Maybe if it was a few years ago I would be, but these companies don't care about negative pr, all they care about is the money. The only thing that will make these companies change is if gamers stop buying their stuff.

Orionsangel2023d ago

This is greed, arrogance and insulting.

What surprises me more is that the game must still have a lot of players for them to think that they can get enough people to make this worthwhile. Considering all the hate it got at the start, I'd think the game would be dead by now.

MatrixxGT2023d ago

There is still a active player base. I play from time to time. If I had to guess though Bethesda found out that no matter what they do to 76 the damage is done and they aren’t going to receive a ton more sales on the game. Now they need cash to justify resources to keep the game running, patches, updates, etc. I’m all for devs trying to correct their mistakes but this is just one of those games that should probably have just died, learn from it, and make a good fallout 5.

rainslacker2023d ago

There are games out there which struggled at the start, but ended up working out in the long term. But the ones that came around did so because the devs made things right, not because they decided to fleece the players that did stick around to justify support.

I don't think it should have died, but I think that maybe Bethesda should have made things right before trying to push this sub onto the user base.

Patricko2023d ago

The worst part is, people are still gonna buy it anyway :(

shauzy2022d ago

dude dude dude, they're jealous, first sales of fallout games and now this? it isn't a coincidence that they do this when outer worlds is being released

Mr Marvel2022d ago

I think we all need to get behind Outer Worlds, buy it day 1 and show Bethesda how far they are off the mark.

Akira20202022d ago

Just wait till you guys see how Activation will top this several weeks from now after Modern Warfare releases.

nitus102022d ago (Edited 2022d ago )

Look at Angry Joe's https://www.youtube.com/wat... , ReviewTechUSA's https://www.youtube.com/wat... and Jim Sterling's https://www.youtube.com/wat... comments.

Note: There are plenty of others.

Warning they are a "bit" scathing. 😮

Chexs19902022d ago

You know how people say that certain companies are out of touch?
Bethesda at this point is on another f*****g planet bro

2022d ago
Godmars2902022d ago

The sad thing is, even after all this pointing out of the obvious, its a wait and see if enough loyalist buy into it and make it profitable.

TheScotsman2022d ago

Aw hey I just put 100 away for the year sub. Looking forward to it. Regardless of weather some people hate because of it but I don't mind paying

-Foxtrot2022d ago

You...are...killing...this...i ndustry

Thank You

Hey you know that thing you can do in Fallout 3, Fallout 4, The Outer Worlds, and other RPGs, playing a game alone solo. Yeah, we're gonna charge you for that now.

Bethesda are losing their minds.

theindiearmy2023d ago

Even beyond charging, the price is absurd. It's more than the console-centric online subscriptions (e.g. Xbox Live Gold).

CyberSentinel2023d ago

/agree

I couldn’t believe it when I read that part.

“...t also lets you play solo. So, if you want to play the multiplayer-focused Fallout 76 on your own, it'll cost you extra.”

W0W!

aarogree2023d ago

And people say Bethesda is out of touch with its fans. Mostly because it is.

Specter2292023d ago

LMFAO this is gonna go over well

Gwiz2023d ago

Can you imagine someone fixing your products for years to let them pay even more as time progresses?
WTF is going on?are they seriously insane over at Bethesda?.
