A year ago, Obsidian heralded The Outer Worlds on the wave of severe criticism of Fallout 76. Today, when Bethesda no longer provides the blanket of a terrible RPG release, things aren't so pretty anymore.

Most of the RPGs this generation have trash anyways besides Bloodborne and Witcher 3. Now we have RPGs like AC Odyssey grindfest where you can pay to level up...... So much progression. Lets keep RPGs in 2012 because 2019 blows.

but so is persona 5, nier automata, monster Hunter world, dishonored 2, fire emblem three houses, horizon, divinity 2, pillars of eternity 2 and I'd even classify god of war as an rpg nowadays.

they might not be the same style of rpg but they're still RPGs and they're still pretty great

The Outer Worlds is the Fallout: New Vegas 2 that we never got because Bethesda had a cntract that said Obsidian needed NV to score 85 on metacritic to be in contract with them.

Have Outer Worlds pre-louded (out of work in ten minutes at time of writing this), and started playing LMD a bit last night. A lot of fun when you get used to it. Also downloaded recore because I was interested.

LMD is great,The Outer Worlds is amazing, but I wasn't really a fan of recore. It felt like a budget last gen game with old gameplay designs. Hope you like it though.

Being that the best RPGs have been being made by mid-range developers as of late, with Obsidian being one of them, and many of these releases feeling out of place in today's market then yes, please, bring on the early 2010's then.

Unfortunately, nowadays, it seems more like RPG is assigned to things that i'd consider a different genre. Apparently just having some strong RPG elements is all that's required to be an RPG.

Loving this game, i die twice already, i BLAM sleep it was 2oclock in the morning, i couldn't wait a hold day to try it out, going to have a great weekend, MW is also out, thank you GAMEPASS because all I'm spending is MW, if you think about it that's 2 AAA games for the price of one. If this trend continues Xbox gamers are going to smiling from ear to ear. If i was Phil Spencer i would keep this formula release on all platforms, let the other platforms user pay full price while my customers enjoy it day and date, the sales would be crazy, and when people would say it's not exclusive, i would say yes it it because it exclusive to a service where others would have to pay full price for it. Anyway that how i would do it, just like Minecraft. GAMEPASS RULES, enjoy the game, i wish i had Xcloud at the moment because i would be playing TOW on my way into work.
