That is par for the course for game journalism these days. Most are just crap click bait articles, or like the Borderlands reviews that nailed the game because they didn't like the jokes.
This is one of the most bullshit articles I've read. The writer has no idea what he is talking about whatsoever. Take this quote for example: "There's some doubt around PlayStation now that wasn't there a few years ago. PS4 sales are slowing (in the UK, console sales are down almost 40% year-to-date)" I'm pretty sure sales being down are because the console has already sold 100+ million units and is in its sixth year on the market. It has nothing to do with there being "doubt" around the brand. How stupid can you be to write something like this? It really angers me to see game media folks spew out utter nonsense like this. It's for clicks and nothing more.
People now days really don't use their brains. I mean I understand that you are a fanboy. I get that part. At least be a good one and use common sense and logic in your arguments. This person just decided to throw all of that out the window and we got this masterpiece lol. I usually write novels on here but I'm at a lost of words here lol. Happy gaming people....
I know you're talking about the person that wrote this ridiculous opinion piece, but at first I read it like you were responding to TGG. lol Yeah it's crazy. I really believe the people that write these opinion pieces do not actually share this opinion. It's all for clicks. It's fake worry or it's fake outrage. They don't use real logic or common sense because that doesn't make for an article that people will click or feel the need to comment on and say jsut how stupid it is. Gaming media is 90% utter bullshit. Lets be honest, all media is for that matter.
Big surprise an investment site it talking up Microsoft and downplaying Sony right after a big Sony announcement. Filled with inaccuracies, blatant pandering, and a whole lot of misinformation, it's almost like these articles are written by Microsoft PR dept.
"it's almost like these articles are written by Microsoft PR dept."
ALMOST!?!.......It's been MS stock and trade for 30 plus years. They are experts at the use of plants and ringers. Microsoft cannot function as a company without trying to put their dirty fingers on every scale they see.
The article seems to be somewhat implying that Sony being silent may indicate they are a bit aimless at the moment.
Maybe.... or maybe, as it was said some time ago, they are crouching down (avoiding media and making their presence known) to jump higher in the future.
They're being surprisingly vocal considering when it's releasing. They're controlling the flow of information, likely in a way they believe will maximize the attention it receives. Not saying everything now, means that if something comes up that they feel they should distract from....like something the competition may announce...they can easily just say something and people are paying attention again. They've already done it several times this year alone, either with PS5 or some game.
We had this article about 2 weeks ago as well, seriously, can people stop approving these articles, especially when they're identical to what was posted less than a few weeks ago.
I see you haven't been reading any interviews coming out with Mark Cerney and Jim Ryan. Just the fact that they confirmed hardware ray tracing in the PS5 should be enough to know that it is going to be one powerful machine...
Game industry biz huh? okay other than tossing a few names around (and not sure why you did, as it was really irrelevant with the “omgerd what up with PS!?” approach that went nowhere), it’s not news it’s speculation/guessing and an opinion piece from someone who likes to write about games and is clearly not industry (as per usual). if you were actually about industry reporting, you’d tell us what’s up with Sony, not speculate and make up random possibilities from an armchair perspective. It’s no secret what up. Stop being a pretentious ass and stuck to your thumbsticks.
I wish we could start leaving a permanent score record on authors with shit articles that pop up right next to their submission along with their credibility, posting score etc.
People want something to be going on with Playstation. They make concern click pieces to fear monger, instead of being patient. BS get's more attention than well thought out pieces, so that's why we get a lot of BS on N4G. It's understandable honestly.
Having the answer doesn't matter if that answer is akin to the ultimate question to everything in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy".
Seriously, this notion that unproven services is somehow the future, and that something that's been available for a while is suddenly going to become the future because some company is doing it is by far one of the most idiotic notions to come out of recent journalism practices.
It stands to reason that Sony is holding back on PS5 announcements and promotion because they want to get the most out of PS4 and games for it this Christmas. If they promoted the PS5 heavily before then some consumers may decide that they would just want until next Christmas to spend their money.
Its very clear Sony is down playing Ps5 because they don't want to dim the shine on what really will be Ps4 last Holiday then leading the charge early next year will be TLOU
Hey let’s put the Olympian on blast for not running the victory lap as fast as his gold medal record. I clicked the link to see what this Dudley Doofus looks like. Was not disappointed.
The section where the author wrote that he was hesitant about writing this article, he should have stuck to his original thought.
This article is all over the place and poorly written. I don’t see the point he was trying to make.

They seem upset they aren't invited by playstation.
When you think they chose Phil Spencer as man of the year they sure are consistent
Look forward to both next gen consoles and hope to own both eventually :)
