Battlefront 2 Update: Is It Time to Admit That EA Doesn’t Suck?

Next by the same desperate bloggist:
Is Dragon Age 3 the best one?
Are multiplayer games better than any SP?
Can we admit that loot boxes are good for the players?

Literally straight to the point XD

But seriously wow...they supported a game with content that should have been out Day 1 and had no choice to keep supporting otherwise they'd be called even worse

Only reason people go back is mostly because they add things which tugs on those nostalgic, fanboy heartstrings and people are glad to see fan favourite characters and locations in the game.

"what is anyone's motivation if you're going to be thought of and treated like shit no matter what you do"

Because they continue to f*** up else where, they stop screwing you with one game and BAM they are doing it in another. One step forward, 5 steps back.

EA in a nutshell, so no I don't think it's harsh, it's just called having common sense.

UltraNova2079d ago

Its never too late to launch a full price MT/loot box ridden, incomplete game and take two years to make it a full game....

Smokehouse2079d ago

But it is too late to bring back beloved franchises that they have killed. Apparently... Where is the dead space trilogy remaster? Where is the skate trilogy remaster. That’s free money for them, the games are already made and they just have to polish it. They would know that if they weren’t so suck.

paradigmfellow2079d ago

Are you serious? EA will always suck as long as it puts its shareholders on a pedal stool.

T2X2079d ago

All companies have to make the shareholders happy. If they don't, than take any product or service you like and say goodbye to it. I've been gaming since Atari days and EA and even Activision were always among the best games you could get quality and tech wise. They actually are very good at what they do, but you have to have realistic expectations regarding how companies operate. I own many EA games (SWBF1/2, All the BF games, Madden ect) I always enjoy them and never really purchase any extras unless I want more maps.

RosweeSon2079d ago

No all companies have to make their customers happy who then spend money on their products in turn making share holders happy as people are buying their products make your share holders happy great forget about your paying customers... not great.

Pickledpepper2079d ago

I also started with the Atari and got every console after that, yes EA and Activision DID make great games but for them it's not about the games anymore it's all about how much money they can squeeze out of games, not by making fantastic games that everyone wants to play, but by finding some thing everyone loves like star wars and making a bear bones game and milk it for every last penny they can get.
As I said it's not about games for them it's just greed! Nothing more

NapalmSanctuary2079d ago (Edited 2079d ago )

"All companies have to make the shareholders happy. If they don't, than take any product or service you like and say goodbye to it."

So basically they make their shareholders happy or the shareholders punish them by further harming their ability to make money? I would say this is the dumbest thing Ive ever heard but it perfectly explains why EA has completely lost the ability to make great games (and money from those unmade great games).

EA still sucks, but companies like Activision and TakeTwo have managed to pass them in the race to becoming the worst company in the industry. Quite the feat!

RizBiz2079d ago

Makes you wonder how long it'll take for EA to sell out to the CCP as well.

Their recent Playstation revenue is also more than Xbox and Switch combined, obviously in large part due to 3rd party sales.

Christopher5h ago

I mean, if Sony is keeping third parties happy, kind of feels like a winning method.

IRetrouk1h ago

Kinda always been that way if you look at previous gens, exclusives are important but they aint the main revenue generator.

Reaper22_29m ago(Edited 24m ago)

.While that is impressive. Microsoft made 13 billion in one quarter. Making up facts doesn't make them true.

Mmmkay17m ago

microsoft is not xbox. a bot should know that by now. you have been told this bs 1000 times on this site alone.

MIDGETonSTILTS171h ago

And this is why the game output for ps5 has been a tad slower…

1) they needed to be… games take longer to develop, and they’d burn out their teams trying to maintain the same pace as ps3.

2) they can afford to… games cost more than ever to push boundaries, so Sony had to figure out a way to match Xbox’s clever profit strategies in order to afford to continue to innovate and take risks.

@ s2killinit

Thats xbox which includes other services. The playstion division also includes other services as well. Its mostly playtion but not all playstation. What's up with all the double standards around here.

ninja Gaiden being released 8 days apart is insane MS hasn't learned anything with shoulder to shoulder releases. October 29 for Outer Worlds and October 21 for Ninja Gaiden. These games now range from 60 to 80$. Yalls audience might GP it but other platforms have to buy it and your average person won't shell out that kinda money a week apart.

franwex3d ago

Aren’t those games made for different audiences though?

Lightning772d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Yes but what if you want both?

Not everyone can buy both.

franwex1d 21h ago

If you want both, then buy both. What difference does it make if you buy one now, and the other one later? Just get the one you really want first. I know $80 is expensive, but it’s not THAT expensive. If you’re skipping paying the gas bill due to trying to buy a game maybe don’t buy either one yet and wait a few months when they’re cheaper? They won’t eat into each other’s audience. Even Microsoft knows.

Reaper22_2d ago

Well, you dont have to buy it. Noone is making gamers buy it a week apart. I don't see anything wrong with it.

Lightning772d ago

You want another Doom The Dark Ages scenario? I'm surprised Oblivion and Expedition 33 did well with a simultaneous release. Clearly that fatigue was definitely felt with Doom.

They need at least 2 weeks apart.

coolbeans2d ago

You're talking about a first-person RPG and a third-person action game though. So, it's a bit different than EA putting Titanfall 2 and Battlefield 1 back-to-back.

Petebloodyonion2d ago

Last I checked, Ninja Gaiden was published by Koei Tecmo and not MS.

I count 7 original multiplatform IPs, which were ultimately bought and are now published by Microsoft.

Sigh.

If you look closer again, then you'll notice that I, at any point, didn't even mentioned the adjective "bad".

But you.

2d ago
Lightning772d ago

The "sigh" means your displeased. Don't make excuses why is it bad?

dveio2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Nope, 'displeased' ain't the feeling I had when reading that article.

But speaking of pleasure:

Are you personally pleased with that line-up Xbox have in store for you in the Series' fifth year?

Edit: I didn't downvote you.

goken2d ago

To be fair “sigh” could also mean relief, happiness… although it is also often interpreted as some form of negative expression

Lightning772d ago

Still making excuses. What's the issue with this?

1Victor2d ago

@light:” What's the issue with this?”

The issue is your thickness a reasonable player would buy one of the two game that are close to each other release and at minimum get it to halfway/finish it and then buy the other at a later time🤦🏿.
Not everyone try to break the speed run record on every game 🫩
