PSNOW: * Over 800 games (majority from PS2, PS3) * Ability to stream all of the games PSNOW * Able to download certain games and play locally * A curated selection of older ps4 1st party games with a 3 month window on the service
XBOX Gamepass: * Over 100 games (majority from Xbox One) * Right now, you can only download the games and play they locally. * No Streaming option this year * All 1st party games are available day one and permanently live on the service. * A handful of 3rd party games are removed each month and replaced by another handful of games.
The majority of their games are from PS1 Ps2 and PS3. So yes. Decade old.
In fact their newest game is God of War. Which is more than a year old.
Also that's not a dig at PSNow. Even though I do prefer playing new games. I know some people like to play old games. Xbox got backwards compatibility for that and Playstation got PSNow.
Its actually cheaper over the long run if you buy more than 1 month. Month to month, they're the same ($10), but ps now gives a discount for the more time bought. At 1 year, its $60 total, which is half the price of gamepass.
Streaming games is a bonus now? Funny, because I have seen nothing but people s******* on it since Google Stadia was announced.
The streaming part is the worst thing about PS Now, the only good thing about it is being able to download PS2 and PS4 games to the PS4. Unless you own a PS4 though, it's a piece of crap. The PC version of PS Now doesn't even have a frigging search option, one of the most basic features of any platform. The image quality also breaks up now and again when streaming, it's 720p, and there is noticeable latency (like with all streaming services)
Every time I have been given the chance to use a trial of PS Now, I have taken it, and every single time it's let me down. PS Now hasn't improved a single bit on pc since it was launched.
“But PS Now will never become Sony’s primary platform for game delivery like Game Pass has become for Microsoft.”
That’s the biggest difference between each service aside from one also being a streaming service that will soon be available across a various range of devices
Actually it's not just on consoles. It's in PCs it's on laptops , mobile phones and on quite a few selection of televisions aswell for people that haven't got a console
I'm not sure if they'll integrate xCloud into regular GamePass. That would be ideal. But I definitely wouldn't be surprised if they integrated xcloud into Gamepass Ultimate.
PSNow has been out for years now. They drop the price, and now that's all people want to write about. The funny thing is, they don't write about PSNow without bringing up a service that's pretty much not even the same thing.
But, one is treating it as an opinion, and one is treating it like a game changer that is an industry standard. The industry won't survive or thrive if a service like game pass was a standard for all companies. Why would anyone buy games, or support the industry? MT's would really be running rampant, and we would be getting nickel and dimed left and right.
PS Now is terrible imo, its mostly PS2 games, PS3 games that can only be streamed and streaming sucks on this.... A fair few PS4 games most of which are rubbish, old, servers shutdown and full of glitches. Its like a scrapyard for PS games. Only about 10% of the games are worthy to be there.
I know passes are good value for money, especially Xbox game pass but I never like them. I love owning editions of games. I also hate services like stadia will be
PS Now is the same price as Gamepass and you have the ability to stream games as well as download them.

Ps now is better end of story.only idiots downplay it
It’d probably be more accurate to compare PlayStation Now to XCloud depending how that turns out
