"Bard’s Fail? The Bard’s Tale games were well received dungeon crawlers from the classic era for the genre – the 1980’s. Despite a brief excursion into action RPGs in 2005, can the series be revived after nearly 29 years since the 3rd game in the franchise? And can a game so connected to the PC ever really work on console?"
When The Bard’s Tale IV: Director’s Cut launched on Xbox One, it was missing Xbox One X enhancements. Even though the latest patch fixed a lot of bugs, the fact that it was blurry, even on the extremely powerful Xbox One X, was a cause for concern. Today, a spokesperson from developer inXile Entertainment confirmed that the game was getting Xbox One X Enhanced next week.
Gareth writes: "For fans of the series and lovers of the genre, the combination of turn-based combat, intriguing puzzles, and exploration work well."
The game had a C level budget but is still quite an enjoyable game and worth your purchase though most likely not at its launch price.
