I still dont understand why all gaming consoles arent able to use keyboard and mouse as an option for all games

DeeJayQc2043d ago

You can right now, on XBOX One on some games and Modern Warfare will permit it on PS4 and XO. It's just that some players don't like using mouse and keyboard because they played a lot with a controller and it feels more natural to them.

I would def want one but it's probably 200$ lol

Um... Dualshock 4?

I guess a good steering wheel for racers and an arcade stick for fighters?

Not really a fan of those "premium" controllers, though they have a lot of nice features they still arent up to par in some aspects to OEM controllers

Sokol2110d ago

For me definitely the Dualshock 4.

Fist4achin2110d ago

The size is comforting of the DS4. Now if we could work on the battery life to be a little better. It's still their best controller. I can't really speak for the off branded controllers, but I have heard good things about them. It's just the price that keeps me away.

NACON Revolution Unlimited Pro Controller (PS4/PC) Review | GamePitt

Rob Pitt writes: I’ve had the privilege of using the new NACON Revolution Unlimited Pro Controller (the third controller in the series) for the last three weeks thanks to BIGBEN Interactive.

I previously owned the original model and loved the comfort and customisation on offer, so I was keen to get my hands on the latest version as it has a feature which no other ‘Pro Controller’ for the PlayStation 4 currently has (as far as I’m aware), additional support regarding the use of the Thumbsticks (inverting the y-axis at a hardware level).

There's another controller they're sending me. Pretty much the DS4 style and size, but offset sticks. Will be interesting to see if I prefer that over the DS4.

@rob-GP..Will diffinitly check it out, thanks for the heads up!

I had the original Nacon and it's propriety plug was idiotic. I accidentally stepped on the wire pulling the controller out of my hand, when I picked it up the tongs were all completely mangled making the controller useless. However, I also did not like the sticks, and the resistance felt a bit loose. How are the sticks on this controller? does the wider base help replicate a tighter feel for more precise and accurate shooting? I have the Elite for the xbox and love that controller but even still wouldn't mind if the sticks had more resistance. How is this controller comparatively?

rob-GP2155d ago

I’ve not used the elite but I do have a first edition NACON controller. I’d say the resistance feels the same on both versions, but it doesn’t feel loose to me, they feel a little less resistive than the DS4 (I have the model 2 of the original controller) but I’ve had no issues with tight gameplay in a variety of genres.

Also, the swappable thumb stick shafts reduces the stick movement, should you wish to use them, as well as fully customisable sensitivity and dead zones via the application.

Why remove the speaker and light bar?

rob-GP2155d ago

I don’t know. It’s a bit annoying because games that use the speaker can’t anymore and you can’t use this within VR. It does still have a light bar LED on the front, for the in-game bar colours, just none on the back. I imagine it’s either to save battery or it’s something third party controllers can’t replicate.

Also, they are touted as ‘pro’ controllers and marketed at pro gamers more than the standard gamer, so more battery and features in replacement of the two DS4 features, I guess?

I fail to understand why these Elite Controllers need to have a Xbox looking design, like there's something wrong with DS4 design!

Immorals2155d ago

Lots of people bought a ps4 after owning a 360 and don't like the dualshock controller, myself included

Elit3Nick2155d ago

A higher placed left stick places your thumb in a more natural position since it's not as bent when the stick is centered, and allows you to more easily move the stick up and down by simply rocking your thumb, which favors FPS games, level sticks have their own advantages too with games that favor moving the left stick horizontally. Overall once you're used to a particular stick layout it doesn't make any real difference.

THEDON82z12155d ago (Edited 2155d ago )

Right why can't Sony just make an official PlayStation elite controller. I don't need or want and Xbox style controller. All I want is a official DS4 with swapable buttons, thumsticks, ect. Also a official Bluetooth 5.0 doggle to use my wirless ear buds with. I own the Sony platinum headset but some day I just want something light, that gets the job done! Please Sony bring back standard 5.0 Bluetooth in PS5!

rob-GP2154d ago

The Astro controller looks good but it’s america only, which is why I couldn’t get one for review. That on let’s you literally move the buttons and sticks around into your perfect orientation. I don’t know what the programmability or if you can use the customisations wirelessly though.

I just love this controller because you can invert the y-axis if the game doesn’t allow you too.
