Game Freak Should Delay the Release of Pokémon Sword and Shield

Pokémon is more than just the games though. They got anime, trading cards, merchandise, etc set to sync up with the release of the new generation this November.

Unfortunately the world’s biggest multimedia franchise can’t just delay the games when the other mediums are geared up to take advantage of the 8th gen of Pokémon. If it were any other franchise they’d most likely delay, but that doesn’t seem to be the case here

They should but they won’t because they know reviewers will give it the benefit of the doubt, they’ve done it before. They praised Sun and Moon but it was so lacklustre and Let’s Go was nothing but a dumbed down Remake at full price

Pokemon Lets Go got only 80% on Metacritic and Sun And Moon got 87%. If the reviewers give them “the benefit of the doubt” or, as a famous phrase goes, “free pass”, then shouldn’t they got much higher score?

This article is nonsense, there are so many more pokemon in this game than just the new 8th gen Galar region ones. Are you serious? Did this person even bother to watch any of the footage so far. They claim that Eevee and Charizard aren't in the game. We have footage of them in the game for pete's sake.

Fine they got some wrong but there are gonna be glaring omissions once the final list comes out when you’ve been carrying previous gens every new gen for many generations to suddenly stop supporting and drop older mon from previous gens or blocking them from current gen is never gonna go down well no you can’t catch them all on the newer games but you can get them all, just not anymore

I definitely agree that this journalist is just trying to cash in on the controversy for clicks, because he is definitely way off with some of the things he's said. But he isn't wrong about the fact it should be delayed, not even a little bit, anyone who disagree's hasn't rationally or logically thought about this situation.

No point in that when the game is essentially done. There's no drastic change to be made unless they delay it indefinitely. What they should do however is really think what they will do for the game after, tho I doubt they will listen to any of the criticism.

Sorry but Platinum was probably the pinnacle omega sapphire was very good X/Y and enjoyed black and white but enjoyed platinum more than any of them you could catch or trade them all and the post game was actually worth doing and last more than an afternoon. Now they’ve knocked out Pokémon for a list of curry’s. This ain’t cooking mama

I don't believe they being Gamefreak should have even announced this game without being able to have all of the Pokemon of every generation. As a loyal pokemon fan this is a let down. I'll pass on this series until Gamefreak gets their act together.

There ain’t now way they are delaying this game. The Switch is very hot right now, and the Switch Lite was just released. They’re gonna capitalize on the momentum of the Switch this holiday by releasing a brand new Pokemon game.

Is it good for business? Definitely. Is it good for gamer? Hard to say, as we need to play the game first to make judgements.
