where did I hear this last time?

Dreams does look promising, I hope indie devs can make money out of it. I might try to make something in it but I am not very creative like some of you awesome people :)

LOL did you just compare EA and Activision to SOny?

Neonridr29d ago

well Destiny is onto year 6 now.. so it's not exactly a lie. Nobody said that it was 10 years of just one game, just that they had a vision to deliver over a 10 year span.

Teflon0229d ago

Yes and no. Destiny is 2 different games so it doesn't really count imo

Neonridr29d ago

@Teflon02 - it's still continuing the Destiny vision though.

Comapring a robust creative tool to cut and paste looter shooters? Why?

ImGumbyDammit29d ago

What creative tool? It still a no show after over 7 years of development (and no early access does not count, that could be years of early access and changes before it even sees the light of day). Promises never met, release dates pushed. Maybe it will turn out to be great and supported on some 10 year plan when it finally is released. But, I personally have little faith in a project that will be now be going 8+ years after it was announced. Maybe they met they have a 10 year plan to get the product to market, not that they have a 10 year plan to support it after it finally gets here.

Game is out right now, get over it. Can be purchased and used.

Kribwalker29d ago

Well Yoshida was previously quoted “"the game is just offering an alternative path to busy people" and to "read [the GT6] reviews when they come out. Microtransaction per se is not a bad thing," he went on to write. "How the game is designed around it could become a problem."” so we know he’s on board with Microtransactions

and they have been talking about transitioning to a Mau with more service based and multiplayer games with micro transactions

so i would believe that dreams would be the perfect game to do that with

Nasdac29d ago (Edited 29d ago )

Coming from an Xbot , I guess you know how to deal with microtransactions... but offcourse when it comes from M$ there is no 'Problem' in that, right?!!

Kribwalker29d ago

I don’t have a problem with it in anyway unless it’s pay to win. If it gets me free DLC because others are buying MTs i’ll take it. It’s others that always seem to have a problem with it. Others that wouldn’t have a problem supporting this game, like GTSport etc

antikbaka29d ago

Oh road maps...road maps never change... ALthough they do if games fail.

rainslacker29d ago (Edited 29d ago )

Last time Sony said something about a 10 year plan was with the PS3. They had it on the market, and supported it for 10 years.

I know it can be easy to be cynical, but you still have to look at the history of comments such as these.

That said, Destiny did seem to be going the 10 year plan route that Activision wanted. But then Bungie and Activision split so now the plan falls on Bungie.

So PS5 confirmed I guess?

wwinterj29d ago

PS5 will play PS4 games but yeah it wouldn't surprise me if it ends up having it's own version on PS5 too. I'm just waiting for news on a retail release.

Teflon0229d ago

It'll probably get a update to fully take advantage of PS5 as it's probably not smart to sell 2 different versions and just repackage it as a crossgen title or something

rainslacker29d ago

Probably cross gen, and since it's a game engine, the games made on PS5 version will probably work on the PS4 version as well. At least if they make it so assets can downscale to lower power requirements.

DaDrunkenJester29d ago

I bought into the early access of Dreams and I really do want to get into it, but it's been so hard lately with the other quality releases I need to play and backlogged.

I know once I get into Dreams I'll be locked in for a long time because I want to build a game idea I have been working on since Project Spark lol

KaiPow29d ago

It's not that farfetched. Just look at how long they supported Little Big Planet

mogwaii29d ago

What, 10 years until it comes out.

THC CELL29d ago

I wish I could make sound effects on this site
This would be it I'm sure you get what I'm trying to call you

ImGumbyDammit29d ago (Edited 29d ago )

Why is @mogwaii a donkey/ass? Dreams was in development already in 2012 (Media Molecule mentioned it at Gamescon 2012). This is not some game that has been in development for three or four years. Since it isn't almost assuredly making that 2019 release the game is heading into at least 8 years of development. @mogaii may be joking about 10 years but, it is not far off how long this project has been in development.
