Are you really comparing the production value of ff7 remake to this zelda port which basically looks the same and plays the same? You seem like the type that would say Nintendo online is worth the price because they are offering a gaming library of irrelevant old games that majority of the fanbase doesnt want to play on nes and snes

I wonder why certain companies can make a remake of a game and sell it less than full price but Nintendo constantly has all their games that are ports at full price. Why was donkey kong tropical freeze which was literally the same game from the wii u and cost less on wii u was full price on switch. You Nintendo apologists are ridiculous and work so hard for free without questioning all the rubbish practices by Nintendo. There are a few games I'd like to buy on switch but would never because of Nintendos silly antics.

Who support a remastered at full price? I sure as hell didn’t. But we are talking about a remake now, not a remastered.

By the way, DK Tropical Freeze is not “literally” the same game as it was on thr Wii U. New gameplay features were added in, and the graphics got an upgrade as well.

Because Nintendo knows they will sell like hot cakes and can get away with it. Scummy, but it’s true. Can’t say the same for something like the MediEvil remake if it was $60.

Also, calling this a port is factually incorrect.

A lot of it comes down to how they price their games. It’s pretty ridiculous that games such as Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe are STILL at full price, despite how old they are. Meanwhile Spider-Man is a year old and it already has a cheaper GOTY edition with all the DLCs included. Lots of Sony’s 1st party IPs had official price cuts later down the line, while Breath of the Wild is still $60 MSRP.

They’re too stubborn and greedy to knock down prices over time and are too greedy with their pricing for Wii U ports. Are you telling me that NSMBU Deluxe is really worth $60? A game originally came out back in 2012?? Like, not even the added content justifies that price. $40 would’ve been extremely fair, but they’re all about maximizing profits as much as possible, and it’s unfortunate that they get away with it. It’s a scummy move, and they don’t realize how much more sales they could make with fairly priced content.

This is the NPD list for the best selling games of August 2019 https://nintendoeverything.... SSMB was the 5th best selling game, Mario Kart was the 7th, Spider Man was the 11th and BoTW was the 12th.

Why should Nintendo reduce the prices of their games when they're still selling? You asked me if Smash was worth its price. The market is clearly telling Nintendo that yes, it's worth the full price so why should Nintendo reduce it? There is nothing scummy about what Nintendo is doing. It's all supply and demand 101.

First of all, I said NSMBU. As in New Super Mario Bros. U. Not Smash. I never said Smash wasn’t worth $60 as I also believe it is, considering it’s a new game with a shitload of new content.

Second, Mario Kart is one of Nintendo’s biggest system sellers. While it’s good for them the full price didn’t hurt their sales, but a price drop could lead to more sales to further maintain momentum. Imagine if it reached MK Wii levels of sales? BotW could also benefit from it greatly. Especially with the sequel coming in the future. Imagine if they released a GOTY bundle with all the DLCs and priced it at $40 in order to hype up the sequel? More sales.

But again, look at NSMBU Deluxe, Tropical Freeze, Pokken Tournament, Hyrule Warriors. How much would have that hurt them if they weren’t $60?

Ah yes, got confused and made a mistake on that one. Since the Wii U is dead dropping the prices of its games wouldn't do much for them.

For the big Switch games that you mentioned like MK, they're still selling and are competitive in the software market. The momentum is there so other than losing money I'm not sure what would be the point of reducing their prices.

For the not so big games like Hyrule, in my country none of them are sold at full price. Maybe in your region for Nintendo the demand is good enough to keep selling at full price.
