COGconnected: I recently got to play Ghost Recon Breakpoint's closed beta on PS4 and my overall opinion of it is this: It seems like a game that has missing potential.
Sounds like a Ubisoft game.
Ubisoft has been wasting potentially great ideas for decades.
The same trend with Ubisoft game. The formula and open world usually feel the same to one another. Their games are in danger of becoming like Telltale’s games.
Wasn't that pretty much what Wildlands was as well?
Nope. I enjoyed wildlands. Played 30 minutes of this and deleted it.
What was your major issues with it compared to Wildlands if you don't mind me asking?
I too would like to know, as someone who played over 130 hours of Wildlands (kill me plz).
Nomad is probably one of the most overused military codenames in video games. I also like when they try to make it look like you crash landed alone and stranded only to follow up with a player hub filled with other players. I've always found the writing in most Ubisoft titles to be very robotic and stale. AC: Odyessy romances are one of the worst I've seen, and hearing the voice acting in the Division games was cringe.
Prince Of Persia had strong writing but I suppose that was a long time ago now.
If it’s as good as the last one I will be pleased. Hopefully they let you kill the final boss this time instead of an npc..
that really irritated me when we were deprived of finishing off the final boss in wildlands.
Boss fights are not part of Ghost Recon games, and shouldn't be in any Tom Clancy game.
These multiplayer only type of games are just so disposable, lacking in content and full of f2p mechanics.
It’s not multiplayer only
This game is aiming for a single player experience. You start off as a lone wolf. You can choose to get other people but you can play the whole game solo.
They all say that but we know it's main focus is the online
Well if its fun that's all that matters right
As soon as I saw that guy in a T shirt walking on a snowy mountain with cap tilted backwards it was a no from me.
I had wildlands and it felt..hollow, running from point to point taking out dull ai enemies, ghost recon hasn't been the same for me since graw, but maybe it's just me
Reskinned Wildlands, overall I found it quite boring.
I didn't mind it for a mindless coop game. The major downside of wildlands for me was the lack of any real stealth mechanics, which from what I have played of this seems to be a lot better in that regard. The beta offerings were so slim and unoptimized that I feel it's too soon to tell if it will succeed or not. Not sure about console as I haven't seen it but on PC it felt like a step up. The characters so far seemed super generic though which was expected. I like that the equipment boxes are no longer static set weapons anymore as I felt in Wildlands it was very much "If you want to sniper and get a good gun then you need to go here and do this first" which I didn't like. It's easy to just right something off before release based on a small preview beta so I'll reserve overall judgement until full release next month.
I loved the beta. I'm 100% the target audience.
