That's the way it should be. It's a Switch exclusive. End of story. Deal with it.

I agree, stop the port begging

anonymousfan1695d ago (Edited 1695d ago )

Oh well I waited long enough for Persona 5 on the Switch I might as well grab it at 20$ for the PS4 or even better borrow it from a friend

ElementX1695d ago (Edited 1695d ago )

@tekiz, you're always bringing up MS and Xbox fans in every thread, you seem obsessed. 6 out of your last 8 comments mention MS or Xbox, all in a negative way.

King_Noctis1694d ago (Edited 1694d ago )

If we’re being fair, both sides has their fair share of port begging, some had come true, and some never will (like this one).

Sono4211694d ago

I haven't seen any port begging...

I agree, but I just hope this means switch port begging can stop too. They need to just leave Persona alone and accept that. Though I never heard of port begging for this game tbh. That's a surprise to me honestly. I know ppl were saying they'd have bought if it was on ps4 over switch because it would run it alot better etc. But actually asking for it as oppose to saying it should have been on ps4. Naw. But still I agree. Port begging is annoying af. I can understand like when vita port begging happened for ps3 games or like how I wish Tokyo Mirage Sessions would come to switch. Basically, same platform ports. I understand. But beyond that is just annoying. Especially if you're grown

King_Noctis1694d ago

To be fair, Persona 5 is a third party game that Sony has nothing to do with. Astral Chain on the other hand was fully paid to be made by Nintendo. Third party games usually have little to no reason to be exclusive.

rainslacker1694d ago (Edited 1694d ago )

I personally wouldn't care if Persona gets ported, or goes multi-plat. Wouldn't mind if it's SMT counter-part does the same thing.

Not sure if that's considered begging, because I don't know if it's begging to ask if a game will be on another system, or say I'd like to play it there, but if it is, then I guess I'm a beggar. Not that I'd make a big fuss about it in most cases though. It's usually when games are made exclusive that were traditionally multi-plat, or on another system that I say it shouldn't be that way, although exceptions do exist(Bayonetta for instance).

They making Babylon's Fall and Granblue Fantasy Re:Link for PS4 so no hard feelings if Astral Chain is for Switch. Platinum works better with Japanese Devs, Deal with it.

AngainorG7X1694d ago (Edited 1694d ago )

Platinum is no longer working on Granblue Fantasy Re:Link and Babylon's Fall is most likely a multiplatform title just like Nier Automata. Try again

Kyizen1694d ago

So no one gets to play it, like Bayonetta 2? They killed that franchise by making it exclusive

DEKUX121694d ago

Actually it sold more on the wii u then 1 sold on xbox and ps3 combine ya didn't want it cus ya were to busy playing trash. Now were getting 3 and ya just well still watching the last of us

Nasdac1694d ago

Babylon's Fall is PS4 console Exclusive like Nier Automata was for 1 year, so Timed or Not still an Exclusive for now. Xbox don't sell that kind of games anyway.

bluefox7551694d ago (Edited 1694d ago )

That's ironic considering the amount of port begging comes from Switch owners.

jaycptza1694d ago

I assume you have seen Persona 5 Switch episode?

King_Noctis1694d ago (Edited 1694d ago )

From the article, Kamiya said:

“Would be great to have Mario, Zelda, and Metroid too but…As for do I hate PlayStation, I’m just a video game developer fulfilling my contractual obligations, maybe try asking my publisher and investor Nintendo?”

rainslacker1694d ago

I think people don't realize that P* is often just contracted to make games for various publishers. Sometimes, it's games they come up with, other times, it's games some publisher wants to make. Sometimes those games are multi-plat, other times, they're exclusive. It's more often than not up to the publisher whose paying for the games development.

wheresmymonkey1694d ago

There's as much chance of Astral Chain coming to the PS4 as there is of The Last of Us coming to Switch.
Just because its a new IP its still a nintendo ip.

sprinterboy1694d ago

I see some don't get the j/k

isarai1695d ago

As someone who is mainly a Playstation gamer and doesn't own a switch (yet) i never expected any different, Nintendo funded and published it. So why would it go to PS4? I mean it'd be cool, but just aint gonna happen.

xX-oldboy-Xx1695d ago

I'm surprised people are even asking for it, it was a known Switch exclusive with backing from Nintendo. Do you want to play it? Buy a Switch - exclusives sell consoles.

oakshin1694d ago

What you don't understand is in my case I'ma have to fight kids over a videogame console witch makes me look bad and I'm way to old to take a kids game...oh and Microsoft owns obsidian now admittedly it would take alot for me to have another xbox ever but that's a huge step for me personally

Neonridr1694d ago

@oakshin - literally nothing you said made sense there..

Sgt_Slaughter1694d ago

This is one of the most rational opinions I've ever seen here. Thank you.

xX1NORM1Xx1695d ago (Edited 1695d ago )

i'll never understand this, Bayonetta 2 outrage was kind of understandable but lets not forget it would have been multi platform if SEGA had not refused to fund it and nintendo stepped in to do so but this was a whole new game that hadn't got any "platform loyalty" this isn't like if the next Persona was a xbox exclusive or something.

As for if he hates playstation? don't make me laugh have we already forgotten Neir Automata was console exclusive for like a year?

Business is business i doubt he has the luxury of deciding what platforms he gets to make games on he may be a high ranking employee but he has a duty to protect his staff so at the end of the day if nintendo offered money to make them a game vs xbox and playstation not offering any? well i'd do the same thing in his position. Seems like some people got a bit too caught up in the console wars and truly believed the PS4 is the be all end all of platforms.

Sevir1695d ago

Neir wasn't a game he developed tho, he was busy on Astral Chain and Babylon... He's been on record as saying He wasn't a fan of the PlayStation 3 platform... But I don't think he hates The PS4. Let's all not forget he also worked on Rising and Vanquish

xX1NORM1Xx1695d ago

Yeah i didn't mean he worked on it but as one of the founders of platinum games he obviously had a say in the decision to make automata a ps4 timed exclusive.

The ps3 was quite divisive among developers as it required more time to get to know and when you have to simultaneously make multiplatform games it's kind of a hard sell, The devs that really took their time could get the most out of the PS3 especially when its all they worked with in the case of 1st party devs where as alot either didn't have the time or didn't care enough ie Bethesda whose shoddy PS3 ports are infamous.

i agree its highly highly unlikely that he hate the PS4 its exactly what devs were asking for more power and a similar architecture to pc to make ports and multiplatform releases easier and less time consuming.

Concertoine1695d ago

A lot of Japanese devs (especially smaller ones) went on record about their dislike of the PS3, mainly due to its difficult architecture. In the early years of the ps3 many devs stuck with the PS2 or gambled on the 360. MS tried their best to take advantage of Sony’s situation by seeking developers, free dev kits, low licensing fees, etc but obviously the 360 had bigger problems.

Bayonetta was a game specifically designed around the 360’s GPU and RAM.

Obviously by the end of the gen developing for the PS3 became less expensive/ time consuming.

Sirk7x1694d ago

To be fair, I don't think anyone enjoyed developing for PS3 lol.

cartman3131694d ago

Nier wasn't console exclusive for a year. It released on PC 10 days after PS4 release.

xX1NORM1Xx1694d ago

"console exclusive" means that you can only get it on that specific console or pc usually if its only on one console and not pc its just an exclusive like astral chain or uncharted.

XxExacutionerxX1695d ago

Why are PS Fanboys begging for other console exclusive games, I thought the PS4 had plenty.

ProGengu1695d ago

Why are Nintendo fanboys begging for other console exclusive games like Persona 5, I thought the Switch had plenty.

XxExacutionerxX1695d ago

Nintendo doesn’t need any game from Sony. Lol I wouldn’t talk exclusively about Nintendo. Sony will NEVER ever have the exclusive IPs that Nintendo has. Persona 5, really... Lol
Biggest difference between Nintendo and Sony. Sony games are good and last about as long as two console generations before the graphics are dated and everyone forgets about it. I guarantee if your grand children were to play any Nintendo exclusive IP on Switch, Wii, N64, SNES etc. it would stand the test of time as a timeless classic.

Gemmol1695d ago

Not the same asking for astral chain is like asking for god of war

Persona is not exclusive to Sony they just choose to make it for Sony like Ys game

King_Noctis1694d ago

I’m sorry but did Sony made or pay for Persona 5 to be made?

Neonridr1694d ago

Sony and Nintendo thrive on exclusives.

1695d ago
ProGengu1694d ago

It's so easy to make you Nintendo fanboys get all uppity. Maybe next time don't patronize and take the moral high ground when it suits you. It makes yous look sore and toxic, especially at the mention of Sony. And PlayStation doesn't need the IP's Nintendo has lol. In case you hadn't noticed they've got a stellar list of exclusives of their own with over 100 million PS4's sold.

2 years ago yous were a non-entity with the 13 million failed Wii U (which I see you didn't mention in your timeless classic rant :p), and now yous think yous are gods gift to gaming again. I bet you were crying like Wario typing that. Waaahhh! Waahhhh! Haha.

1694d ago
Neonridr1694d ago

jesus.. the fact that so many people agree with that pathetic rant paints a sad picture of N4G currently.

Grow up dude.

Nintendo Select: 5 Switch Games That Deserve A Second Chance

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "The Nintendo Switch has been one Nintendo’s most successful systems ever, both measured by the number of units sold and the quality of its titles, but if there’s one thing this generation has been missing it would have to be the Nintendo Selects line, bringing existing titles that had paid their dues back at bargain prices. With the Switch now entering its twilight years, and there being few new titles in store for the foreseeable future, what better time could there be to bring back this tried-and-true tradition? While the actual realization of it may be doubtful given how rigid both hardware and software prices have become in recent years, that only gives us all the more reason to dream up a hypothetical lineup of our own.

For this article the specific focus will not be on those massive multi-million evergreens that the lineup would no doubt contain a few of to cement its value, but instead on games that for one reason or another fell short of their full potential the first time around and deserve a second chance to reach more players at an affordable price. Let’s get started."

I really want Xenoblade Chronicles X on the Switch, can't believe that hasen't been ported. I'm playing Skyward Sword at the moment and I'm almost finished, but it's so long and the controls are so bad, even without motion. Astral Chain is fantastic though, they should make a sequel.

Bayonetta 3 Was Originally Planned To Be "Semi-Open World," Inspired By Astral Chain

The recently released Bayonetta 3 was originally planned to be “semi-open world” along the lines of Astral Chain, at least according to reports. Bayonetta 3 of course wound up being an action adventure game in the same vein as precursors Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2. The reason for the change appears to have been little more than random circumstance.

Definitely. I LOVED the original, but this series needed something new to stay fresh.

I hope Astral Chain returns. Anyway I can see the inspirations from it and Scalebound scattered throughout the in the game.

no doubt, a new Astral Chain would be fanfreakintastic.
