So that ppl understand, the author mentions framerate issues (which should be non existent issue, 2019) and tutorial skip ( it has boost mode to speed it up, but i kinda do understand this). He puts valid reasons but i feel the score is too low. Btw this was my first ff game when i 10yrs old, and today is my 30 yr old bday. Gotta buy this since its my childhood game.

You can (and always have been able to) skip the tutorials... All you need to do is press triangle or circle (I forget which) when the tutorial text pops up. If you press X past the first text box, the game forces you to go through the full thing though.

Not the best FF, but still leagues better than XIII and XV.

BTW, if you're wondering what happened to FF, it seems all the talent work on FFXIV now. I just played through Heavensward and that's probably the best story they done since the PSX era.

KaaF1786d ago (Edited 1786d ago )

PSX era FFs have the worst stories by far.

LightofDarkness1786d ago

Really? Worse than the practically non existent stories in 1-3? VII has a worse story than XIII and Lightning Returns? I know this is subjective to a degree, but you're not exactly convincing me that this isn't hyperbole or edgy s***posting.

You are drunk if you believe this

CrimsonWing691786d ago

whoa, I mean yea 6 was phenomenal, but 7, 8, and 9 are really the Apex for FF stories.

in your opinion. FF 1-2-3 and 5 says hi

XIII at least has a more coherent story than VIII, and gave importance to everyone in the main cast equally, unlike VIII where everyone who's not Squall, Rinoa, or Laguna got shafted in character development.

LightofDarkness1786d ago

I can agree with that, at least. The only problem is that the entire cast is unlikeable, with the exceptions of Fang and Sazh.

Final Fantasy Games That Deserve the Remake Treatment

Final Fantasy has a long running history with numerous numbered titles and spin-offs, but which games stand to benefit from a remake?

gold_drake216d ago

i feel like all of them.
well except 2 haha.

shinoff2183216d ago

Agreed. Ff2 though can be made better, so it's not entirely a lost cause. Ff8 will gets its time. I do wish they'd do the old ones. From ff10 and up those ones still hold up pretty well.

kevco33216d ago

Honestly, I've always felt that VII and up 'hold up well' in that regard. The early 3D games just needed a cosmetic update. But the FFVII Remake is so different to the original in execution that a lot of games could be done in a similar fashion and feel far more modern.

I'm not saying that's a good or bad thing (that depends on your personal preference!), just that they could feel very different.

shinoff2183215d ago

Kevco I liked remake but I think your right. Idda been happy with a 1 to 1 remake that looked like ever crisis to. Or both

I'd just love I square would one day give us a turned based one with today's graphics. I can't really think of a jrpg that does that.
