The Squadron 42 beta has been delayed by three months, Cloud Imperium Games has announced.
Even beta gets delayed. That is Amazing.
This is the kind of stuff people will do movies about, how they stole 250 million dollars and got away with it.
Stole? They are employing 450 developers.
how long was KH3 in development? since the PS2 i heard. yeah we literally saw a civilization rise and fall in the mists of it's development. both Bin Laden, Saddam Hussein and Fidel Castro died when it was in development. that's a fact.
as long as Squadron 42 delivers the gameplay. People have waited as long for Cyber Punk as well. we'll also see if that game delivers.
KH3 wasn't publicly funded. Hence all the Ponzi scheme comments.
KH3 wasn't sponsored by end-users though, so that argument doesn't really apply
Keep paying for the snake oil.
If only they had received another 50 million.
If we meet our kickstarter stretch goal of $3 Billion dollars, we guarantee it will launch on our promised 2014 launch date. I actually feel bad for people who kickstarted the original and thought they were going to get a game. Some of those people have already died. I am not joking. They kickstarted a game that was never delivered.
They might finally reach beta state if they reach 3 billion
Can't wait for the final version of the game single player, looks incredible.
You're going to wait indefinitely
"Can't wait for the final version of the game single player" "Btw people are playing star citizen from a long time and having fun with it go watch yourself" So which one is it either you're waiting or you've been playing a long time ago? FYI, aimlessly flying around in ships people have spent as much as an actual game console or more on of real money is not the same as playing a real game. They're not playing they're beta testing and getting scammed in the process.
maybe they want to implement ray-tracing now. in any case, this game better deliver on all fronts otherwise it will be the biggest heist in gaming history.
Already is the biggest heist in game history.
RDR2 took 8 years..just saying
RDR2 launched. It went gold and the publisher distributed it.
yeah no kidding.. Star Citizen hasn't reached that point
Last guardian 10 years "PS3's Trico Had More "Motion Patterns" Than PS4"
And it wasn't crowd funded and it actually released, just saying.
Btw people are playing star citizen from a long time and having fun with it go watch yourself
RDR2 was funded by the parent company of Rockstar Studios (San Diego) - Take Two interactive, and NOT the consumer, like Star Citizen. Just saying...
Remember when it was supposed to release in 2016? ...Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Pepperidge Farm has a crappy memory. The original Kickstarter said 2014.
From how I understand it apparently the team asked the community rather they wanted it sooner or if they wanted they could improve upon it adding even better features but it would come later and the community picked later. Not supporting what we currently have as even when I tried it my computer can't run it . . .i have a amd ryzen 2700x with 16 gb of ram my graphics card is old tho gtx 970
They didn't sell enough of those $789 virtual ships I guess.
What do you mean? They sold out
Yeah, true. Selling out of virtual items is a thing. The manufacturers ran out of bandwidth to create more ships
Doesn't matter they will create new ships then nerf those just like they have done to the original backer ships
What incentive do they have to release anything? You think they want the gravy train to stop? Of course not, they're gonna keep stringing along these suckers as long as possible.
Really good take there. I mean I've been hearing that for the last 3 years but nevermind
And when you're hearing it 5 years from now what then
Maybe if people donate some more money they can move it back.
They are using this time to get plastic surgery done and then do one/disappear.
Delaying a beta by months...a beta...my god this games development is a mess.
biggest scam in history, this will never release
this is the biggest scam in gaming ever. i can imagine the dev heads always going out to strip bars and hitting the JD etc whilst ardent fans continue to pay them. game looks good but without any release date id never support. they should have just found a publisher willing to take it on
Perhaps they will add a battle royale mode?
LOL!! while smh.
Need to take bets on what generation of gaming this will arrive on and how many billions it will require. No doubt enough to end hunger in a poor country.
My prediction is that they used kickstarter money only to bring it to next gen consoles and just haven't announced it yet. So they get paid twice. Kickstarter money and multi platform money.
PC is awesome and is what you make it, literally. This game, however, will need to see a release on everything with a screen AND be a hit on all of them in order to be profitable by any margin. This is absolutely ridiculous. That’s why they had to go to Kickstarter because they clearly couldn’t give a timeline of goals. Who in their right mind would fund a game this long with ZERO signs toward it being a smash hit. Don’t get me wrong, they’ve shown some cool things, but it’s straight up comical at this point. I’d go as far as to say that it’s impossible for it to deliver the amazing total experience it aimed for. Other games are releasing all the time that have a version of a bulletpoint that star citizen has. Diminishing the wow factor little by little. After all this time that little has added up to a lot of disinterest for me. Good look devoted fans. You’re going to need it.
Why is people keep funding this?
Is anyone really surprised?
Just say 2021 at this point
isn’t this the game that’s just known for taking all its backer’s money and pretty much squandering it? lol
The greatest con in gaming history.
Why are people giving them so much money?!
For the people that actually follow this development process, it's not surprising or unexpected. There are a million caveats to the Roadmap and things move around on it every month or so. As long as progress is being made, most of us don't really care about small delays. I know it's fun to make jokes and jump on that bandwagon filled with people who don't really care about the project, but CIG supplies a ridiculous amount of content showing the work they're doing and the game has been playable for years, so I'm not concerned.
