Jimboms2088d ago

Mate looking at those videos I'd say the PS4 Pro has the best visuals.

THC CELL2088d ago

PC will always win in gfx with tweaks

Ps4 version dose look better than Xbox only just

Neonridr2088d ago

PC w/ Ray tracing runs circles around the console ports..

Jin_Sakai2088d ago (Edited 2088d ago )

“xbox 4k”
“ps 1440”
“ps looks better. yeah ok...”

Xbox isn’t 4K, it’s 1440p. But yes it looks better than PS4 Pro version and performs better.

Unspoken2088d ago

Wut? You can easily see the higher resolution, better character model, and lighting at least on the main character. That's without looking at any spec sheet.

Delusional.

PC with ray tracing enabled might be very demanding but it's a generation beyond the effects on any console, including Xbox One X. The video makes that obvious. It takes a full step further than what is possible from current consoles, and is clearly an early peek at the future.

DEEHULK882088d ago

Why do you say including Xbox One X when people that watched the video already know this.

SkatterBrain2088d ago

nothing really wowed me yet with Ray Tracing it seems like a Hog of Resources, id rather use that to make the physics in games better have more complex objects

mogwaii2088d ago

But clearly an expensive set up can't even handle it properly so what's the bloody point. It's still a ridiculous gimmick at this point.

Rhythmattic2087d ago (Edited 2087d ago )

Why do PC guys even care about "sudo" Raytracing?
Sure , it looks friggin good,. but hasn't always been about fps?
Besides capable PC's getting high pixel counts, all I hear is fps is king, right?
Applying Raytracing hits your fps hard..... Did I miss something?
I guess if the developer capped the fps , that changes everything.

LOL, switch version. But switch can run witcher 3. Witcher 3 is a 5 year old game that had to be stripped down so much it looks horrible. base ps4 and base xboxone are having trouble running it as is.

King_Noctis2088d ago (Edited 2088d ago )

The Witcher 3 is open world, this game is not. The Witcher 3 is still a technical masterpiece till this day.

The Switch can also run The Outer World. Is it also a “5 years old game”?

SyntheticForm2088d ago

From DF:

720p base Xbox machines.

PS4: 900p

PS4 Pro: 1080p

Xbox One X: 1440p

scoot_n_loot2088d ago

beautiful. Though it looks like it has the same floaty shooting/movement mechanics that put me off of QB.

SyntheticForm2088d ago

Remedy's games have had that intentionally glitchy, wonky theme since Alan Wake; floating, agitated debris phenomena, the ground rippling and buckling underneath, things randomly disappearing, and other general paranormal things.

It's a signature design that they don't seem to want to let go of, but the games are good in any case.

Hungryalpaca2088d ago

He’s talking about the shooting.....

scoot_n_loot2088d ago

The way it feels sort of reminds me of GTA.

SyntheticForm2088d ago

I know he was talking about the shooting but I wanted to say more.

NarutoFox2088d ago

Loving the PC version. I'm playing it on high setting instead of ultra though.

WickedLester2088d ago (Edited 2088d ago )

Let me guess. PC 1st. X1X 2nd. PS4 Pro 3rd.

PyroMessiah862088d ago

Yep! Playing on X myself. It's great.
Also great username. \m/ You Wanted The Best You Got The Best...

Control 2 will shift to an action RPG, Remedy confirms. The first game is set to receive a free update in early 2025, unlocking previously released content.

eh?
They better not mess much with the Max Payne Remake(s)

Yui_Suzumiya177d ago

Yeah but this was announced before the Max Payne Remake after all

LucasRuinedChildhood177d ago (Edited 177d ago )

What does "unlocking some previously released content" actually mean though? I would imagine it should be "previously unreleased content". Bit odd.

DaReapa177d ago

Right. Especially since the Ultimate Edition supposedly contained everything.

raWfodog178d ago

I only played about an hour of Control when I added it to my library back when it was one of the PS+ ‘free’ games. I’ll start it over again after the early 2025 update is dropped. I keep hearing that it’s a good game.

jznrpg177d ago

You can make that statement for any game. It’s called gameplay loop. Not everyone is going to enjoy the same loops but all games are repetitive by nature

RedDevils177d ago

Agree it was very boring game. Could not get into it. Remember me the game I played on PS3 is still better than this.

Chocoburger178d ago

These days "RPG" translates to constantly grinding for experience points, wasting time upgrading gear, and repeatedly collecting resources off the ground.

Please don't be an Ubishit style filler game.

Yui_Suzumiya177d ago

Hopefully it'll be more like Mass Effect

Amplitude177d ago (Edited 177d ago )

Remedy doesn't really make mistakes. It'll be good, I'm sure.

Inverno178d ago

So in other words it's an action game needlessly fluffed out with RPG mechanics and a pointless leveling system. I really enjoy RPGs when they're actually RPGs but modern action games really tire me out when they shoehorn in mechanics they don't need. All this does is make a 20 hour game into a 40 hour game because missions become locked behind level requirements, and enemies become damage sponges. It's not fun, it's tedious.

Remedy is leaving Epic in the dark place to self-publish Control 2

Remedy will self-publish Control 2 as part of a new "strategic cooperation agreement" with Annapurna. A press release accompanying the announcement says Annapurna will provide half of Control 2's development budget, and in return gains the rights to adapt Control and Alan Wake for film and television.

TheNamelessOne260d ago

Devs backing EPIC didn't last long. I just can't understand why ... /s

porkChop259d ago (Edited 259d ago )

This isn't about the store. Epic published the game on all platforms. They want to self publish because they couldn't recoup Alan Wake 2's budget.

Killer2020UK259d ago

...because Epic chose to restrict its PC release to the Epic store and completely restrict it's physical release until later this year.

Vits259d ago

It’s connected, though. They couldn’t recoup the costs because Epic restricted the places and formats where the game could be released, literally removing the biggest PC distribution channels from the equation. And they also sold the game cheaper than a traditional full release, solely to support their statements at the launch of the Epic Games Store that PC games would be cheaper if it weren’t for Steam.

RaidenBlack259d ago

Dang, nice ... Alan Wake II is an amazing game
Can't wait for Control 2 and Max Payne Remakes

DustMan259d ago

Not sure why your getting down voted because you found Alan Wake 2 amazing. I'm in the same boat as you. Can't wait for Control 2 & the Max Payne remakes. Max Payne 1 & 2 were some of my favorite pc games from my early teens lol.

RaidenBlack259d ago

Coz N4G logic.
You cant praise a game if its got no physical release, not releasing on PS etc

isarai259d ago

Maybe this time we'll actually get a day 1 physical release

JEECE259d ago

And hopefully Steam/GOG options on PC.

PS5 Non-Exclusives That Feature Fantastic Haptic Feedback

Sifu, Control, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and others, despite being third-party games, offer best-in-class haptic feedback on the PS5.

CrimsonWing69305d ago

I think the GTA V PS5 upgrade has some impressive haptic feedback and other utilization of the dual sense features.

Like, rain hitting you has a distinct feel, parts of the road do as well, fun fire feels crunchy and different depending on the gun (SMG vs Shotgun, for ex.), but I always get a kick out of the phone conversations coming out of the controller and if you have the lights off in the room and the fuzz is chasing you the controller does a good job of doing the red and blue lights that kind of light up the room and just add to the fun.

LucasRuinedChildhood305d ago

Borderlands 3 makes very good use of the triggers. Each gun feels unique.

chicken_in_the_corn304d ago

One of the best features of the ps5
