Death Stranding Can Be Enjoyed In First Person View

Kojima has confirmed that Death Stranding will be playable in first person, but states that the game is not a first person shooter.

You will get downvoted to hell because some people here think that Cyberpunk has to be an FPS. It's effects them personally somehow if we get the option of Third person view.

It's been explained time and time again why a third-person perspective this late in development is not viable.

CDPR didn't have third-person in mind during concept while Rockstar Games had both. Rockstar designed their game to accommodate both perspectives from the earliest stages of development to the latest.

I don't think this can be explained in simpler terms - they can't just 'add in' a perspective now. This is 'their' project and 'this' is how they want you to experience it.

Figured as much when they showed the war/tank scene in what was obviously a first person player controlled camera. Plus Kojima has put very functional first person modes in just about every metal gear.

Exactly. First person in Kojima's games are entirely optional and smartly implemented. The best example would be MGSV. I had been headshooting lots of enemies and when the game detected my... preference to headshots it equipped enemies with helmets. Its only then I changed to 1st person aiming just be able to shoot them right between the eyes!

I really can't understand how some people aren't excited for Death Stranding - even if the gameplay doesn't reinvent the wheel, it will still be better than most games on the market. Same goes for CYBERPUNK 2077, it isn't going to revolutionize the FPS genre - still looking amazing in every sense of the word.

Neither is Cyberpunk in the same way that The Witcher isn't a hack n' slash series. TW and Cyberpunk are both RPGs.

I'm not saying that to be pedantic but because the criticism I've seen of Cyberpunk seems to expect it to play as well as COD but it was never going to as it's a hardcore RPG. In the same way that PES and FIFA's career modes aren't as detailed as a football manager sim any game can only do so much if you want it to release in our lifetime.

What I was saying about DS is the gameplay may not be so radically different that we haven't seen or experienced similar mechanics already. Both games are hyped to the heavens and both games are already getting 'concern' articles.

Kojima claims to have created a new genre - we'll have to wait and see, I'll be there Day 1 with a Collectors Edition, Steelbook copy and Digital - then the artbook on the 18th.
