Death Stranding Briefing Trailer Leaked, Giving Us 7 Minutes Of New Off Screen Footage

Death Stranding made a large presence at this year’s gamescom, revealing not one, but three new videos during the Opening Night event for the public. It was later reported and then confirmed that a fourth trailer called “Briefing” had been exclusively shown off for attendees. Well as all things, the trailer has finally surfaced online. You can watch the video down below, and in case it does get pulled there is an alternative available.

So at least we have some focus on the overall plot now

Sam must go to Edge Knot City to save Emily and on his travels he must find terminals so he can reconnect survivors to the "Chirale web"

Nitrowolf21704d ago (Edited 1704d ago )

Yeah, wish they shown this one off since it gives us a good idea what the objective is other than having to reconnect the world. This one at least got me more interested

The Deadman trailer gave insight into the story and helped make more sense of the things. Still-mother, Bridge Babies, and their connection to BT's.

excaliburps1703d ago

It still doesn't make that much sense to me, which is par for the course for Kojima-developed games. Haha! I'm sure it will once the credits roll though.

Another cutscene...

Better idea of what the story is but I'm not buying it for the story if the gameplay is meh.

i see you added a comment, with no reply function

the point i make, is to answer to people who say there hasn't been gameplay, or they haven't seen it, or enough of it, or in-game footage. so i am shedding light on this.

there has been a glimpse, i admit, small glimpse, so best let people know of whats out there.

glad yo know you've seen it.

IamTylerDurden11703d ago

The minute to minute gameplay in MGSV was excellent.

TK-661703d ago

If I'm following your logic correctly we should predict a relatively meh story then for Death Stranding then?

Edito1703d ago

I'd rather buy a game with weak gameplay and strong plot than the other way around...

And by the looks of it you just want explosions, covers, gun fight on a empty game, no wonder gamers this days learn nothing with what they play...

"I'd rather buy a game with weak gameplay and strong plot than the other way around..."

I get one play-through out of those games and then I'm done with them. A game with a solid core to it's gameplay however can get 100's of hours worth of gameplay and in many cases 1000's. There is not a single story focused game on the market that can offer me 1000 hours of gameplay. Not even the Witcher 3 can't accomplish that and it has a very well crafted narrative.

"And by the looks of it you just want explosions, covers, gun fight on a empty game, no wonder gamers this days learn nothing with what they play..."

You've based this on nothing. You have no argument. Back up this claim by showing how you know what my tastes/preferences in game genres are. If you don't reply with evidence then I can safely assume you like to pull shit out of your ass in discussions and aren't actually interested in an honest conversation.

Might I suggest movies then? We play games here sir.

FunAndGun1702d ago

Then just watch a movie.

This is what they should have shown at gamescom, but instead they chose to show Norman Reedus growing a mushroom with his piss and a tacked-on Geoff Keighley cameo appearance.

mrmikew20181703d ago

Geoff Keighley is the king of "cringe".

harmny1703d ago

I like Geoff kringhey

FunAndGun1702d ago

He could be at times, but his passion for video games overrides all that. He has done a lot for gaming and he is one of us.

IamTylerDurden11703d ago (Edited 1703d ago )

I enjoyed the Gamescom showings. I don't need an Anthem announcement trailer with fake footage and choreographed bullshit every time.

For the idiots crying about the trailers or lack of gameplay, Kojima showed a stunning high level supercut trailer right before E3 that showed off gameplay and dramatic elements. It showed motorcycle traversal, melee combat, and shooting as well as stealth gameplay. I loved that trailer, but i'm also quite happy just seeing the game run in this age of pre-packaged, sizzle reel, marketing fluff bullshit.

theshredded1703d ago (Edited 1703d ago )

My eyes that camera quality! I'd rather wait for the official release.
