One of the biggest surprises from E3 2018 was the announcement of Phantasy Star Online 2 on the Xbox stage, showing Microsoft's commitment to Japanese games.
Just one game won't help
That why they're doing "continued support" Seriously wtf your problem?
Not even trying to disguise your hating huh....I respect that
yah cause you shouldn't even try, that would help... I bet you are a lot of fun at parties.
Ah yes, it will never be enough or even a good enough start. Just gotta keep up the negativity.
And they have been trying to get more eastern games, right? Final fantasy ports, CrossfireX, phantasy star, MGSV and future konami games, D4 from SWERY, Kingdom Hearts 3, Bandai Namco support, Valkyria chronicles games, Tales of Vesperia and plenty more.
@Tekiz Who cares, support is support dude. Its gotta start somewhere. You dont need an entire list of exclusives from Japan, just getting port support is a good start for a western based company.
The next Xbox would be lucky to sell over 200K in Japan Microsoft can get all the support they want, but it’s nigh impossible to change the mind of the Asian market’s consumers.
Xbox still has a significant presence in other markets though. - In Europe Xbox 360 & Xbox One sold more than any other Nintendo home console except Wii - In RoW territories Xbox 360 & Xbox One sold more than any other Nintendo system except DS & Wii By that logic, you’d be saying that the rest of the world aside from North America and Japan don’t care about most of Nintendo’s systems.
I hope you realize that this move is not about the Japanese market, its about bringing a classic Japanese game back home to xbox in the US. Its almost like you didn't read the article...
Phil bringing home a true classic. Xbox One and PC with crossplay!
A timed exclusive won't help you, but it's a step
How about helping Mistwalker make video game console games again, instead of just cell phone games.
I loved phantasy star 2 on the Megadrive, it's what got me into turn based games. I liked final fantasy up until 10 then it went down hill for me. I'm not interested in the remake of ff7 no matter how good it looks, hack and slash games bore me but that's just my opinion, if others like it good for them but I don't want to spoil the memory of a great game.
can't wait to play this game on consoles, been waiting a long time.
"Broader markets" who like Japanese games own systems more of those games come to and often stay exclusive to. Just saying.
@Abriael please fix year from E3 2018 to E3 2019.
If they focus on bringing more Japanese MMO's to the west that would be a huge plus for them.
