The PS4 Exclusivity label has returned for Death Stranding creating even more confusion about the much anticipated PS4 title's exlcusivity.

I'd prefer playing death stranding on my pc but I'll definitely get it day one on ps4. It's not as if the ps4 is as weak as a switch so the game would look like a early xbox 360 game. What I've seen so far of the game looks amazing so I don't mind buying it for ps4. I cant wait to play this game

You say that but it's been confirmed developers dont control that label being on the box. The Persona devs confirmed this when people asked about the logo on the box and the response was "Idk about the box label, thats a Sony thing". So trying act as though this was some elaborate scheme by Kojima is attributing way too much to him. Let's just remember the last time he tried to string people along they figured it out within a few hours but he kept the act going for 6 months like he had people fooled. Hardly what you'd expect from a "Master of stringing people along" XD

every publisher that met kojima including all 3rd parties and ms wanted a tech demo while sony asked him how they could help him. They signed the deal without any tech demo or any promises. They even helped him with the game engine. Kojima liked sony but lately he has loved his decision

Sony has the plan to do similar reveal like they did with ps4 but will show more games. Actual hardware still at E3

Seeing all this makes me think if Kojima wanted The Last Of Us Part 2's Motion Matching in Death Stranding they would delay DS and make it into the game even if it meant exploding the budget for DS.

Sony has given Kojima the keys to the castle. I can't imagine why he wouldn't jump to sign with Sony? Where else is going? Microsoft? Hell no. EA? Ubisoft? No. It's more likely he'd sign with a publisher that has a ties to Japan as his studio is based there. Konami is out and the other Japanese publishers are likely too small. He craves creative freedom and nobody will offer more than Sony. They have the budget, the tech, the Japanese ties, the pedigree, and the advantages of a film, music, audio, and deep R&D department. They are the biggest console and VR developer in the industry as well. Sony is a dream.

My guess is they are either waiting until the PS4 reveal/E3 or possibly to see how Death Stranding does to see if they definitely want to lock in on Kojima. He did make the game pretty quickly, a brand new IP, no delays. If the game sells 4 million and scores over a 78 i think it's all systems go. I'm sure they are hoping for high 80's meta and 6 million copies, but we'll see.

6 million sales means it made excellent profit i think it can easily get a high 90 Meta, now if it sells like Uncharted, Spider-Man or TLOU they should lock it in, Kojima is in an interesting position with this collaboration icing on the Cake would be Kojima Productions winning their first Overall Game of The Year with Sony Interactive Entertainment every step of the way helping KJP whatever way they could.

I just learned to be entertained by comments such as those. Having such strong brand loyalty nowadays just seems so odd, since gaming has reduced to large corporations just bleeding money from us. They mock PC gamers when we're just another subset of the same coin flipped. We're nothing less or more than a console gamer, but yet they feel like we're superior.

This is coming from someone with consoles and a PC primarily. We just want to play games, and yeah if the game never comes out on PC and it's worth it enough people will buy a PS4. That's what exclusives are for anyway, right? To sell systems.

The whole game is built using the Sony owned decima engine. They would have to re-make the game using Unreal engine (or something else) if they want to release on PC.

Are you sure about that? Assuming Sony decides to release the game on PC, they would have little issue porting the game over using open gl or vulkan. The game engine code would be identical for PC since the PS4 is already based on PC hardware. Now do I think this will happen? I think it is very unlikely.
