Respawn: We Are Being "Incredibly Generous" With the Amount of Apex Legends Free Stuff We Give Out

Respawn's Project Lead says that the studio has been "incredibly generous" with the amount of free stuff they've given away for Apex Legends.

Its gross. I don't care if the game is F2P, IMO a season should never cost more than $60. I only pulled that number because that's the cost of a new game and think its a more friendly consumer number to price all content at. Just switch to destiny in Oct. season packages will be around 10 - 15 bucks I believe. The Eververse store has all the cosmetic needs you’ll ever need and doesn’t effect gameplay. Lol no I’m not being paid by Bungie to say this. The games in a much better place. 3v3 competitive pvp is coming along with a solo queue version of it. Shoiuld be good !!

It's annoying when people use the "Its's all cosmetic" cop-out when it's a free to play game, that's generally the only progression we have. In a game like Overwatch where everything (Mostly) unlockable via progression, the it's all cosmetic line sits way easier with consumers

Except, they don't. You are free to not pay for anything and still play the game for free without any functional limitations content gameplay wise (i.e.: maps, characters, weapons).

I agree the pricing is insulting at best and needs a huge overhaul/rethink, but you are not forced to spend any money here to have the same gameplay experience.

Rainbow 6 siege has had this type of event twice now and that is a paid game. You could only get 2 out of 30 items for free then had to pay for 25 other lootboxes which cost 5$ each. No other way to get them.

No, just no... you have given us some free stuff over the last 6 months yes but giving us some skins for free doesn’t mean you have a get out of jail free card for the future. I don’t mind if you only gave us 2 iron crown boxes for free that’s ok for a f2p game imo but the absurd pricing of additional boxes isn’t ok at all.

I would have happily given you £8-£16 this event if the boxes were the same price as the normal ones but no you had to take it further and make the boxes £6 a pop that’s why I didn’t buy them, that’s what I’m mad about and that’s why your being lambasted.

We aren’t ignorant to the fact apex is free in my opinion it’s the best battle royale out I play it nearly every day but my support isn’t a given if your gonna be greedy fucks I’ll just not spend any money and save my apex coins to buy the pass over and over so you see nothing from me...
