During Nintendo's Indie World Showcase this week, it was announced that Moon Studios and Microsoft would be bringing over the indie Metroidvania platformer to the Switch.
This game is a perfect fit for Nintendo Switch.
I've been wanting to play this game for forever!
So why didn't you just get it for Xbox, then you would have already played it sooner?
This game is amazing, beat it on GamePass earlier this year. Switch owners are going to love it.
Yep, the absolute best in its class. Great game, great musical score, great art, great controls - this is my favorite metroidvania class game. So good.
Just barely started playing it yesterday. Earned 3 achievements, out of 57 so far...
Games amazing, i’m glad others will get a chance to play it. I’m hoping gamepass ultimate will slide onto the switch at some point as well, maybe with xcloud it’ll happen like some rumours suggested before
i really want sunset overdrive now
Again, all this want can be answered with the purchase of an Xbox.🤷🏾♂️
Not everyone can afford multiple consoles.
Absolutely incredible game. It's a matter of time before Rare replay and Conker etc make their way too Switch. As someone who owns a Switch and a One X , I'm extremely excited about this secret new partnership between MS and Nintendo.
Im hoping for cross play like you can continue your game from anywhere. Maybe they could just add swith to part of the play anywhere equation.
It's probably a pipe dream, but Rare Replay with Donkey Kong Country 1-3, DK64 and Diddy Kong Racing (while I'm dreaming, with online racing perhaps?) added to it on Switch would be a dream come true.
I dont think it's a pipe dream at all man, at this stage maybe even an inevitability. Microsoft seems eager to put there content on Switch. Dont be surprised to.see project xcloud take off on Switch and future Nintendo hardware.
The game is awesome, I was really hoping the see the sequel this year, but MS continues to disappoint.
Ori and the Will of Wisps got delayed by a few months. Would you have preferred the game got rushed out ?
Game isn’t even being made by Microsoft. Comment is a fail.
Microsoft is the owner and publisher of the Ori series. Microsoft Studios certainly has some say in how Ori is developed, even if they aren't directly involved in the game's development,
Saw that coming
Day one, If Nintendo can strike a deal for Ori and Cuphead I'm sure they could for Rare Replay
Certainly is possible, but cuphead and our aren’t owned or made by Xbox game studios. So there’s a bit of difference
Yeah that's true. I think Microsoft own the Cuphead IP and may have helped fund the game, but anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I think due to how successful cuphead was on the switch and the reaction to Banjo they'd definitely be willing to put rare replay on Switch or even sell the IP of banjo who knows All speculation, guess we'll just have to wait and see
Microsoft owns the Ori Ip. However, MS doesn’t own Cuphead or Super Lucky Tales.
Well Cuphead on the Switch does use Xbox Achievements on it, so I'm not so sure.
Ori was partially funded and published my Microsoft though, and they own all distribution rights.
Best news. Will happily buy this again.
I love this great partnership between Nintendo and MS that put one of my favorite all time side platformers on my current 2nd most played console behind my XB1X. Banjo on Smash was great too and I hope this partnership continue on next gen.
Xbox 3rd party publisher the best so far
With Minecraft being the best selling PS4 game of 2019 and one of the best selling games on Switch, I think you have a point.
Xbox as a 3rd party publisher would be awesome, Games like Gears and Halo would be great on PS4
With Xcloud, it might be possible
Nintendo Switch library is getting deep.
Yeeeews! Now I can play it
I hope the sequel comes out on it at some point. Portable is the only way to play Metroidvanias to me.
It is interesting what is happening here. Microsoft and Nintendo seem to be plotting something together.
Bought this game twice. Once on Xbox one and again on Xbox one for the definitive version with the new powers. If moon studio / Microsoft want to get me to buy it again they’ll need to release it on PS4 and I’ll buy it. I have a switch but I’m not a fan of the system and don’t like to play games in it. Maybe in the minority here.
That's fair, but with the right advertising, I'm sure many people would love to play Ori on Switch. It's a tough game, but I'm sure it would be magical to some, especially kids who have never seen anything like it.
If you've never played this game do yourself a favour and play it immediately.
For real, hands down some of the most beautiful art direction ever crafted in a game.
