Conker Creator Says the Return of Rare IP to Nintendo Platforms Was “Inevitable”

Before Rare was purchased by Microsoft and absolutely crushed everything near and dear to many fans’ hearts by releasing Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts, they were releasing absolute bangers for all of their favorite Nintendo consoles. Microsoft ruined Rare they where on top of there game when they where with Nintendo

Lets hope this Rumor is true

BadElf2122d ago

I get it. Rare was bad then. But...Nintendo are the ones that sold them. They initiated the downfall. People had to leave Rare because Nintendo sold them.

But, it happened. Ready for Banjo Amiibos. Banjo Kazooie?Tooie remake. eah yeah

Nintendo never fully owned Rare. Microsoft had 51% of their stake before Nintendo sold their 49%, so how was it they initiated the down fall?

I hope Microsoft allow Nintendo the right to include Diddy Kong Racing on the N64 Classic.

Read the story. It does not involve Rare going back to Nintendo but rather Microsoft allowing Rare to release their titles for Switch. Not even all titles.

Plus it’s from a former employee, not a current one. A bitter former employee at that.

Rare also started to decline during their final few years as a Nintendo 2nd party developer. Nintendo also had a falling out with Rare, as they weren’t pleased with the sales numbers of Jet Force Gemini , Perfect Dark, & Banjo Tooie and Star Fox Adventures. Nintendo also refused to publish and market Conker’s Bad Fur Day.

As long as Microsoft owns Rare they'll never create games like that again. They can reuse the names but the games will never be as good.

And what problems did you have with Kameo and Viva Pinata?

Rare was definitely better under Nintendo. The years of making Kinect games I’m sure made a lot of the talent leave. What a waste
