Xbox Cloud’s controllers attach to your phone for a handheld Xbox-gameplay experience

Based on patented designs, these conceptual Xbox Cloud controllers give us an idea of what the real thing would feel like. Two controller-halves clip onto either side of the phone, turning it into a handheld gaming console, complete with everything you need to play Xbox’s signature titles. The controllers come in a variety of colors, just like the original Xbox ones, and feature all the keys, buttons, and joysticks, including BOTH the left and right triggers on the top!

If Xbox cloud ends up really working well on phones, I'm sure there will be plenty of third party controller alternatives. Getting streaming to work over 4g without lag, that's where the magic will need to happen.

I got a few disagrees yesterday when I mentioned this patent.

That is an ugly concept for a handheld with its clip on controller to cell phones. The length and basic look kind of reminds me of the Atati Lynx in its design.

This is just a conceptual design made up by people who don't work for Microsoft that have too much time on their hands. The actual prototypes that Microsoft has been working on look and work much better than this. These designers completely made up how it attaches to the phone since the actual patent describes a much different method.

I own a Key One, so I'm not sure that design would work so well for me. I think I'd rather just use an Xbox One controller with one of those clips that your phone sits inside of, at the top of your controller.

Far from what the real ones will look like but fun concept . Here is a pro typed from before that was rendered from the MS concepts themselves. This is also much more realistic to what they would really do. This way you can just have the small little 2 parts to attach on each side that have every bottom or add the extra clunky arms to feel more like the real deal.
