Borderlands 3: Take-Two Addresses Investigation Into Streamer Leaks

Following the rise of a #BoycottBorderlands3 social media trend, Take-Two has confirmed its investigation into leaked Borderlands 3 materials.

CP_Company1509d ago

addresses? they are lying. but it's nothing new. they are scummy publishers.

Summons751509d ago

The only liar is the one who got caught with his pants down, scummy youtuber.

CP_Company1508d ago

caught? so you know he is guilty? so in TT and 2K logic, supmatto is not guilty, you are - Summons75. wait for 2 goons at your house any moment.

AnotherGamer1508d ago

Have you even read the entire story about it?

JackBNimble1508d ago (Edited 1508d ago )

They should be investigating themselves that's where the leaks originated from in the first place not from some YouTuber.

TricksterArrow1508d ago

This is digital and info age. Leaks will happen, if not today, tomorrow, if not by one of your employees, maybe by hackers, maybe someone will mess up, maybe someone speaks too much at a bar, shit happens. Companies should adapt. Counter by maybe feeding false info, addressing the issue publicly, looking what can be done in-house to avoid more leaks (be sure, they will happen anyway), hell, even ignoring it altogether and/or adapting marketing campaigns would be more reasonable than attacking fans for being fans. Who doesn't want to know, speculate and look into the future of their favorite series? There should/could be some degree of accountability, maybe blacklist the guy? Reach out to him in a non-confrontative manner? But this? This is terrible, terrible PR.

I will be watching Cohh Carnage leak the whole game to me. Probably will cheer him $60 and say I couldn’t find the game on sale anywhere legitimate online so he can have the money. Then after a Steam sale with all the dlc included I will finally play it myself.

Your brain has definitely been siphoned - that's the most backwards logic I've heard in awhile.

UnHoly_One1508d ago

You are going to just pay some stranger 60 bucks so that you can watch him play a game for you??

What the hell has happened to the world?

I just DO NOT understand Twitch at all. I mean unless you are watching a pro at a certain game just because of how amazing they are, I just will never understand it.

"Well, I could play Borderlands 3 myself, but I think I'll just buy it and then grab a stranger off the street and have him come in and play it for me while I watch. Maybe I'll watch a few commercials and pay him for it as well."

DarkZane1508d ago

Why tell anything to private investigators at all? They're not even actual law enforcement, so you really don't have to tell them anything.

xX-oldboy-Xx1508d ago

He probably panicked, didn't know his rights - still inexcusable as far as I'm concerned.

Summons751508d ago

Because criminals are generally dumb.

FlameWater1508d ago

Let's look at the bigger issue here, two investigators had unlawful access to the streamers private information. We have to take into consideration Take Two has the belief they have the legal authority to do this.

VTKC1508d ago

they think they are the FBI. J Edgar Hoover style.

Sounds like you purchased them more like they were limited edition coins or stamps to profit from with a sale than really doing anything with the acquisitions.

Now, it's looking for buyers and shoving the rest out into the unemployment line.

Sure Tencent will be waiting in the wings to snap up a few bargains.

StarkR3ality1d ago

Genuinely don't think there's been a bigger fuck up of a company I can think of in gaming. Buy all these IP and studios and then close them all down, wtf.

0hMyGandhi20h ago

I know, right? who do they think they are, EA?

Tapani18h ago(Edited 18h ago)

Embracer really did not know how to manage these companies. This is what happens with too fast expansion in business.

The laws are simple, make profit margin of 10-15% from the get go from each of your companies/studios, or you have to fire people and projects will be delayed or cancelled. Their salary and other operational costs were too high. I can't believe they didn't crunch the numbers well enough. I was always thinking where does the money come from.

Many workers who have families may lose their source of income and it has a real effect on them because some megalomaniac pretend executive didn't do their job. The good news is that most of the talent will likely find a new home very easily. The bad news is that lot of the good work they put in may be lost forever.

They are pulling off a Microsoft and destroying companies.
