The Witcher 3 Fits On A Switch Game Card, But Spyro: Reignited Trilogy Probably Won't

Sypro: Reignited Trilogy lands on Nintendo Switch on the 3rd of September, but there seems to be confusion right now over whether or not all three games in the collection will be included on the physical version of the release.

That’s not an appropriate comparison to make since Witcher 3 will use the 32GB game card size on Switch

You can be certain Spyro will be on a smaller size cartridge

Dabigsiebowski1877d ago

The question is whether all three games will be on the cartridge not just one and download the others like a few other games have done on switch.

I know what the question is but why bring up Witcher 3 as a comparison when it’s clear Spyro won’t come on a 32GB cartridge?

luckytrouble1877d ago

They'll probably just pull what they did already. All three games could have fit on a single bluray disc, yet you still had to download the vast majority of the content. The size of Switch game cards will really let them pile on the excuses to do it a second time.

DarXyde1877d ago

They wouldn't need to do that. If they really want to make a case for digital, they could always cite portability concerns and "wanting Switch gamers to have access to all three games as seamlessly as possible" - the framing is "pro-consumer" and doesn't blame Nintendo as a partner.

No feelings hurt, no bad press. Saying "iT's ToO bIg" feels a little too nefarious, even for Activision. I can't imagine they're that lazy.

King_Noctis1877d ago

That says alot about what kind of developer CDPR is compared to Activision.

CBaoth1877d ago

Bingo.

Indie Pub: ahh, it don't fit? We'll just use a bigger cart.
Biggest 3rd party Pub: it don't fit? So, use the 8, and make them download the rest.

anonymousfan1877d ago

Your point is still valid but I don't think CDPR qualifies as and Indie publisher... Can't wait for Cyberpunk 2077! That game is probably gonna take a whole lot of space too lol

@anonymousfan

"CD Projekt S.A. is a Polish video game developer, publisher and distributor based in Warsaw"

That sounds independent if you ask me.

CBaoth1876d ago

to me though they are the quintessential definition of an independent developer/platform creator/publisher. They started out localizing foreign software for their Polish countrymen. Then they privately financed and self-published the Witcher. Used the proceeds to re-launch their store with DRM-free copies of new games as well as legacy titles. Again, privately financed Witcher 2. Wash, rinse, repeat with Witcher 3. The only time they required any outside assistance was porting 2 to the 360. I imagine CDR was determined not to repeat the mistakes made with the canceled Rise of the White Wolf console port so they handled the conversion in-house

Well considering that it’s 35gbs on PS4 and was 25 originally on Xbox with out DLC. It isn’t surprising the Witcher fits on a single card for switch, it is a single game after all.

File size of Witcher 3 from Xbox to PS4. It’s not a large game. Spyro Reignited is however 3 games completely remastered for 36.24 gbs after full download I know... because I have it on my PS4. That’s more then a 32gb stick

Nothing is guaranteed in this life, so don't wait on anything.

This is what happens when Toys For Bob gets pushed to help develop COD

Achievement Locked: The Inaccessibility of Completionism

A huge community exists online now for those seeking full completion of their favorite games, but it seems that not everybody can join in on the fun.

Everytime someone says difficulty is bad because it isolate disabled people I feel like it's an excuse because made by someone who wants to have their work done for them, you talk about how much you dislike something and then add a little "I'm talking for the sake of disabled people", also I think it's a bit disrespectful to think that disabled people can't do what others do, you have someone beating Malenia with his mouth or her feet!

Also after reading this article I feel like you don't want completion to be tied to everything in the game (which includes difficulty settings), it's called completion, yet you want to be one without actually completing it?

franwex781d ago

If an achievement or trophy is too much for me I simply don't do it. I can complete the game 100% without playing in Nightmare mode-if it's too hard for me (or will take too long like the witcher 3).
Then there is the BS achievement mentioned for FF9 jump rope which I will never waste my time on.

My OCD may act up if something is not complete, but my patience will over power my OCD with ridiculous tasks.

Having said all that, achievements have gotten more relaxed in the last few years as gamers tend to want to complete all of them (due to the platinum trophy), when before they were designed to give you a score-to make you want to try more games like in an arcade. So, focus more on relatively modern games and your OCD will suffer less.

Lots of hobbies are inaccessible. Do you think everyone has the steady hands to build ships in bottles?

But nobody is accusing ship bottling conventions of being exclusionary. That’s just a difficult hobby that nobody cares about.

Every hobby becomes exclusionary at some point. I didn’t feel welcomed to my school’s basketball team. If I wanted to play basketball, I had to join a recreational team.

Why erase a challenge for all at the benefit to a very, very few?
