Ubisoft Boss Would Like To See A Mainline Assassin’s Creed Game Set In China

Assassin’s Creed is a series that consistently takes us to some excellent locations. Even when the series has been at its worst, it hasn’t failed to take us to some excellent recreations of historical settings. Where it will take us next is always one of the most talked about things with any new Assassin’s Creed game.

Wake me up when Ubisoft cares about Splinter Cell and Prince of Persia, again.

Apprently AC exists because PoP sales started to sink. I personally loved them all from Sands of Time.

I dread to think what Ubisoft would do to Splinter Cell in 2019. We don't need yet another open world Ubisoft game but you can almost bet that's what it would be.

I was thinking about that psvr2 eye tracking patent the other day and was thinking it would be a great use for looking where you want to send your squad instead of a big colourful arc and circle popping up breaking the immersion in shooters?

They should. They really should...

Would also like to see a Assassin Creed set in Japan... with Ninjas and samurais.

DaDrunkenJester2150d ago

But that means there would be a lot of work involved and they can't just rework most of their animations and assets.

The potential an AC set in China has, is absolutely huge. I really hope they'd go all out on being able to learn and expand numerous different forms of kung fu, and weapons, in a true RPG-style manner. So having your character learning.using monkey kung fu, would obviously feel and look totally different from a character who uses Hung Gar. You'd also have many different weapon styles.

There's also stealth elements, night curfews, gorgeous varied locations obviously, the wild life, the different organisations, sects, cults, gangs, whatever. You could also go true RPG style with the recipes and cooking. There are islands, pirates, and pretty much every climate and environment that exists. So deserts, rain forests, mountains, swamps, etc etc.

So much potential here to make something incredibly huge, varied, impressive and fun.

They already did that in 2017 with origins. I don’t think a reboot is on the cards when Ubisoft is about to go down under lol

I hope the splinter cell remake sees the light of day before the company closes

Inverno113d ago

I doubt they'll be closing, but they are primed to be eaten up by a bigger comp. Also 2017 was nearly a decade ago, it could use another reboot or rather it should just be retired.

RaidenBlack113d ago

Origins was the reboot.
But that also alienated the original AC lovers, abit. Not everybody adores the perma-change of the IP to be vast RPGs.
What I instead propose is, alternate between Valhalla/Shadows type AC RPGs and Mirage/ACII like non-RPG releases.

PrecursorOrb113d ago

It’d be nice if they made parkour feel new

monkey602113d ago

Put the series to bed, It's tired! Revisit your stagnant properties.

Profchaos113d ago

What do you do when you've already milked everything dry

Noskypeno113d ago

What is old might feel new again. A new splinter cell with semi open levels but still having a linear structure (not just one giant open world) that have multiple paths to complete the objective but still have stealth be the main priority would feel fresh, especially with modern graphics and military gadgets .

FinalFantasyFanatic113d ago

I agree, from anecdotal evidence, all franchises eventually stagnate, it might be a good time to start something new.

PRIMORDUS113d ago

"it might be time for a reboot." No it might be time to put this shit to rest for a few yrs. A good 4-5 then come back.

Profchaos113d ago

Total franchise reboot. This ac game is basically the hail Mary to keep Ubisoft alive if this fails the share price will be so low they will be forced to sell and likely absorbed into another org as the Ubisoft name carries almost no weight.

Don't get me wrong they will end up selling after ac regardless but it will be the difference of getting the deal they want vs the deal they don't

A Wild West Setting Doesn't Seem Too Bad For Assassin's Creed

With many wondering what route the franchise should take next, Assassin's Creed should finally visit the Wild West era.

Tell me how that's going to be significantly different than colonial America. AC is about showcasing different cultures throughout history. They already did Native Americans in AC3, so then just cowboys, outlaws, ranchers, etc? Kinda feel like there's already a game out there that does that really freaking well. Hmmm, maybe the one in the thumbnail?
